| | Pip Chief of Police and Site Owner | 20/200 expert v 4.2 AntS robot review - RESTARTED From http://codebase.mql4.com/3557 comes this new EA, the 20/200 expert v 4.2 AntS. Here are the authors comments: It is an original Expert Advisor by Pavel Smirnoy (http://www.autoforex.ru/lab/20_200_v3/20_200_v3.php) modified by a thorough optimization, adding automated lot size and lot enlargement for loss covering. Checked in reality, works the same as in a tester. It is recommended to be used with a deposit starting from $10000, with smaller deposit shows very little profitability. To be used only on EUR/USD H1 chart!!!! 2008-12-08 - Restarted this robot on the EURUSD 5min chart with 0.01 lot size. 20_200 X5D

| | Pip Chief of Police and Site Owner | I accidentally turned this virtual computer off, which is why there have been no trades for a few days. It should be up again soon.
I have also attached the EA here. |

| Another example of the Russion sense of humour
This is a variant of the idea here http://articles.mql4.com/368
No indicators, the EA goes short or long based on fixed price movements.
Warning signs are:-
Suggested SL being larger than the TP
Optimization results vary greatly with the months/quarters selected
Shape of the equity curve
---
This can make lots of $$$ for 1-8 weeks, maybe longer but...
can then lose all profit & original margin in a couple of days
Breakouts and extended trends just kill this EA - and your account
FWIW

| I noticed this is not being tested with 10K. Also the increase in lotsize 10-fold....hmmmm are we going to blow up?

| | Pip Chief of Police and Site Owner | Yeah, I thought about that, but I chose the $5k starting balance for all EAs so i wanted to see how this would stack up. The $5k balance was chosen because I felt that many investors would probably have $5k to start with, but perhaps not $10k, so I was trying to pick a "realistic" number. That way investors could see what would really happen with realistic figures.
Not everyone has $10k to invest ... or even $5k ... but I hope my reasoning levels the playing field a little in the best interest of investors. |

| Keep in mind the common availablity of micro & nano accounts, so people can start to play with 500 bucks...
Its all about lot size in relation to equity/balance.
But regardless of size of account, there are some systems I would not use with a million dollar account... Anything without a stoploss, anything that ties up much of the account with negative equity, etc, etc |

Its all about lot size in relation to equity/balance. | I agree. I have a mini account.
However, I notice that many authors code for 1 lot, and trading 1 lot on a $500 account on the default setup didn't last long. So partially this is for my ease of administration and setting up EAs and account, etc. I want to put the EA to work with the "default" settings.
The less things I have to change, the more accurate the results will be. Yes, I could set them up with $500, and be sure all the settings are correct, but when I am balancing my current workload with all these EAs, I would hate to get confused and make a mistake that would reflect poorly on the author or EA. This is especially the case if I set up an EA on a different brokerage (IBFX versus FXDD) who has different time zones or lot sizing rules, etc.
So ... for now, I've just standardized on what is easy. Perhaps as the site grows and things become more sophisticated, I'll change it up a little.
Bottom line: I want to have as level a playing field as possible so we can compare all the results equally.

Reason: Typo - mini not micro.

| IBFX has two account types, just for those that are curious (the trade ticket entry is the same, but 0.01, 0.10 & 1.00 respectivley have two values): Standard Account:
0.01 = 1,000 units (Micro)
0.10 = 10,000 units (Mini)
1.00 = 100,000 units (Standard) 10 bucks a pip Mini Account:
0.01= 100 units (Nano) 1 penny a pip
0.10= 1,000 units (Micro) 10 cents a pip
1.00= 10,000 units (Mini) 1 buck a pip
To be able to trade so small there are two firms that dominate the playing field. IBFX and Oanda (Oanda does not accomodate the MT4 platform). Generally 100 unit trades and single unit trades are not common place and many people confuse the terms ... nano ....micro ...mini .... sublot ... lot ... unit...
ES
P.S. Now I realize this is a global forum and audience. I am sure there are brokers from all over the world with different products and standards. I am from the USA and I use only the small handful of firms that are CFTC licensed and NFA registered as they demonstate the stability of having enough capital and limited regulation to offer me. but get this....and read carefully...they are all thieves!
