Obviously this is far too short a time-frame to be making any judgements but it does seem to close trades sooner than other bots and not leave a large floating P/L | Current EvolutionV Final Statement attached.
As you can see its been stuck for over a week now.
In 4 years of EA testing martingale type systems, this is the normal death spiral, in another 6 to 8 weeks it will margin call ..
I was hoping I had found one that might be different. |

When you see it stop and riding around like this not closing postilions for a week it will eventual kill itself. I don't know why martingale systems always do this, but I guess it's the nature of the beast.
Early on with another martingale system I had a real money account running after a 4 month test with no problems starting balance of $5,000.00. The EA was adding 1000.00 a week for 5 weeks THEN out of the blue it got stuck and starting eating up all the profits very, very fast I keep adding cash hoping I could ride it out but 48 hours & 7,000.0 in additional cash later it closed all positions with a 300.00 balance..

Personally, I think that is too much. WAY too much. A few thousand, sure, but this is bad money management . All it takes is some sudden movement to wipe out the whole account.
Take a look at this screenshot ... orders are just hanging out there ... if the market moves against them ... you just keep losing money. I'd prefer to see SOME sort of SL on them rather than this "forever open" baloney. |

| IMHO All martingale systems need a "ah, screw-it!" filter set to go off after a trade has not close in profit for a few hours.
If it would just take the loss when its small and not wait around for days until it gets silly draw-downs It may work.
A system like this surly would have made many, many more times the profit back for that small loss it took if it was allowed to be freed up and start scalping again?
Case in- point : EvolutionV_Final was only down 200-300. $'s at the end of the trading day when it got stuck a week ago, it would have made that back a few times now.. So maybe a kill switch before swap & rollover on the day?..

| What's the difference(s) between "X" and version "V"?
Has anyone used the mini version? Are they the same, outside of lot sizes? Does it have a MM?
Sorry for the stupid Q's - but the authors site is a little light on marketing info - plus he seems to be selling many other things besides FOREX -
I'm demo'ing EvolutionX (mini) right now... and it closes losers *very* fast - it has a slight martingale effect, but don't seeing it doubling lots - so I don't think it's a "true" martingale trader by definition IMHO-
TIA-

KB | The real difference I see is it doesn't trade as much, I have demo both versions standard and mini, it looks to me like it just adjusted the symbol set to accommodate the MM symbol @ IBFX Quote:

KB | I haven't seen any "true" martingale systems in a very long time, they're more of an add-hock systems now, that hedge vs doubling-down. It does increase lot sizes but well into a draw-down, theirs no 'doubling down" from what I've see.
An update from the developer, he's putting in a "aw-screw it" kill switch that I can set to go off after so many hours of a hung trade so it just doesn't sit their for weeks stuck.
I'm thinking either 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours, and well setup 4 demos to see which on is better. If this works as I hope, we may have a winner.
EDIT: Demos setup for 2hrs, 4, 6 & 8 hrs I've also kept the original demo running..

| Thanks for the info Marlin-
I'm running "X" on a small account - and has only been trading .01 lots - maybe it got lucky this past week, but rang up $172 in profits, and about $30 in losers (which as said, closed very fast e.g. -$3.20 & -$2.10) - so there were no real huge runaways like with Steinitz HAS Trader....
RE: Martingale - You're correct, as I went back to Pipcop's Statements after I wrote my reply, and saw it did double some lots... so I obviously it does "think" doubling willl help with the losers... I guess I was thinking more tradtional martingale i.e. .01 + .02 + .04 + .08 + .16 + .32 and so on.... I've tried Bluto's "Jitterug Duplex 4.X" - and that can get real messy real fast... Starts at .01 and have seen it as high as $16.00 per - kinda scary when that is going the "wrong way" LOL- Point being, MG systems work in theory, but I have yet to see one exit properly - or if you get caught in a huge swing, you can kiss it all good-bye-
Lastly - I was looking at EvolutionX more... and thinking $26K in 70 days is bonkers! Of course he's trading huge lots - but it does seem to make money... I agree with PC - if there were a way to get the -$10K float reduced some (err, allot) you may have a winner here-
Thanks again

| In EvoX - there is a "Force Close After "99" Hours" option - that by default, looks to be set on... Have no idea if it is functional or not... as I've never had any trades carry over more than a day....
Just food for thought... as I have no idea about this "kill switch" thingy |
