| | Pip Chief of Police and Site Owner | Well it probably won't matter. I just checked the logs and it's filled with "hedge prohibited" error messages. That is going to seriously affect this (and many other) robot. |

That is going to seriously affect this (and many other) robot. | Correct me, if I am wrong, but I have a demo with FXDD which is not yet NFA approved, so the hedging and FIFO rules don't seem to apply. I placed the Divergence Trader on that demo, and I seem to be able to customize it and not be stuck with a canned version as I did with Evo.X. Holy smokes, that thing made 25% in 24 hours, pretty much all by itself. Maybe that was just a fluke as usual when i get too excited.
The only problem is , that once in a while I get Error # 4051: 'ERR_INVALID_FUNCTION_PARAMVALUE' 'Invalid function parameter value'.
If anybody knows how to fix that, it would be much appreciated.
Peter
p.s.: The message does not seem to make a difference. All positions close, new positions open....just have to close the message window once in a while.

| carlfx01:
There are some similarities between EvolutionX and Divergence Trader, but there are important differences -- Divergence Trader does not use dynamic position martingale position increasing and it does have stop losses that work. So one does not have to manually unhang some trades to make the EA start again. Looks quite insteresting. |

Looks quite insteresting. | carlfx01, since you seem to understand some of this coding, do you know which parameters have to be adjusted, if I would trade this with 0.01 lots instead of 0.1 lots?
I am sure that 'BasketProfit=75' would have to be adjusted to 7.5, but I don't know about
ProfitMade=510; LossLimit=690; TrailStop=410; PLBreakEven=970 and BasketLoss=9999.
Any help would be appreciated. By the way, the version I used from the above link doubled my $ 3,000 demo account in 4 days, but it got a bit close to the edge with 37% drawdown and a pip value of $ 31. That's why I want to try it with 0.01 lots on a $ 1,000 demo, which is a bit more realistic for me.

| EvolutionX unhanging trades It seems that EvoX mini is doing much better when the starting balance is 5000. So far the balance has increased to 9200 (but equity is 6200). For a change, I did not tinker with hanging trades this time. It seems that if the EA gets caught in a range nothing happens for a long time, but when the range gets broken, it starts again. Too bad it cannot somehow profit on the smaller moves within the range .

Let's see if it takes off. | IMO to handle efficiently 1.0 lots the system should have at least 100000 balance. It is all right when it still works on single multiples of the base lot, but at some point it switches to 2x, 4x and 8x multiples of the base lot and this is the moment when the worst drawdown occurs when the trend changes.
When I demoed it with 1000 account, where the base lot was 0,01 it did well until it got to the 0.08 lots and after the trend U-turn the account was obliterated.
In this case when it gets to 8x multiples it will trade 8 lots in one trade and there may be several of them...
Pipcop, I think that you should have stayed with the original lot size. This "stress" test will not prove much if it fails. |

| Chaos Small starting differences leading to big final outcomes are explained in Chaos Theory. Basically it stems from instability. It is like modeling the weather. If you start a model weather program with current stats at exactly 01:00 GMT and run it for a week; then come back and start the same program with the stats from one minute later at 01:01 GMT, you might not recognize the new result after another week of running. It is commonly called the "Butterfly Effect". If a butterfly flaps its wings off the west coast of Africa, then Florida gets hit with a hurricane three weeks later! |

| Getting it to work on Live account I have been EvolutionX on a demo for a few weeks with Alpari and it has made a good return. I have now tried to launch it on my live account but it isn't trading but when I switch back to the demo it trades almost straight away.
Has anyone any deas what I am doing wrong? This is the first time I have tried using an EA so I've probably missed something.
Thanks |

Thanks | If you use the copy that is provided at Pipcop site, you need to buy a new license that works on a live account... The EA author provided his e-mail address in one of the previous messages in this thread. |
