Lightbulb Thanks peter

Thanks for the "shut down" procedure...

I am observing the ea and I came to a conclusion that even if you close some of the positions, you have to remove the expert from the chart on which it sits and put it back. Sort of restart it.

I realized that it somehow keeps count of all open positions, and after I "helped" it with the dangling negative positions it gradually lost track of the positions and then came to a grinding stop.

I decided to start it on a new demo and leave it ALONE. If for some reason it will get stuck, I will do as I mentioned above or I will use peter's expert.

BTW, peteronmaui can you provide uncompiled proc? I would like to use every chance to learn MT4 programing language...

Thanks for that, I hadn't thought of that and it will make life easier for me. I'm going to use that next time I kick-start it.

Here's a uncompiled version of a close all trades EA that I found on the web at http://www.iexpertadvisor.com/freemqlcode.asp

Default Really stuck

Pipcop,
you might want to check your EvolutionX demo. I believe it's not only stuck in a drawdown , but the price of the open positions seems not to be moving. It's kind of frozen at 1.3583, the last time we saw this price was about 16 hours ago.

Post versions?

To: peteronmaui

Do you use the same version that has been used by popcop? I wonder what might be the reason that the one tested here (and by me too), keeps getting stalled...

Update on the new 1000 USD account with Evo mini.

Balance: 1200
Equity: 612

I will not close any positions until the account dies in peace...

Thanks for catching that. You were right, Alpari had logged the demo account off, and I had to reconnect 5 times before it started working again!

Then it made a NICE profit!

I believe it's the same one. I actually use the one from the zip file on http://www.binoo.biz/
But mine is getting stuck as well, like right now. It seems to have two modes. It is either firing away like crazy, or it's stuck. In the last 4 days it nearly doubled my account, but it got stuck with a 25% drawdown with the sudden drop of the EU overnight. So what do I do now? I guess I wait until the drawdown is closer to 17.5%, because then I can close all without a loss over the last closed out equity from yesterday, and the quick step trading can resume. Let's see. This one is always an adventure. My biggest drawdown was 72% a few weeks ago, and somehow it muddled it's way out of that one.

I think that the stuck trades are not really stuck... This is just the feature of the ea. It waits until the positions get to a preset profit level. As at the extreme ends of price turns need sometimes quite a looooot of time to be revisited by the price again, the positions are kept open... According to backtesting it can keep open positions for weeks... The opposite positions provide hedge . Mardingale position sizing provides additional way of increasing hedge /profits. Drawdown is always with the expert. It will always have several lagging positions waiting for the price line to revisit them. Assuming that there are always max 9 open losing positions, which may be 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x etc. times the original lot size (eg. 0,01 in case of Evolution mini) you never know how will it end. On my demo forward testing I have 1341 balance and 904 drawdown . Let's wait...
