| i have been reading most of the results and have an idea......we can pick the worst perfoming robot and create a robot to take the exact opposite trade. forex robot trader would be a good one.... because of the huge drawbacks.....in college i had a friend that bet on football and i would bet the exact oppisite and made a killing and in the casino on roulette if he bet red i bet black and needless to say i cleaned up again.....and needless to say he was not happy so it came to a screaching hault... but i do believe this could be done. and the robot we create would not get mad.

| peteronmaui, 5-10% a day is fantastic but how long have you tested it so far? How much DD before you decide to close it for the day? Also any trend of what session it works best on?
Also does anyone know of an EA that will allow for a % Trailing Stop Loss based on the last known Account Balance (don't mind if I had to enter that manually) then turn off the EAs when it does hit the SL and close all trades? I know there a free EA called Sentinel that will close all trades automatically when a % profit is hit but it does not turn off the EAs so that my problem with that one.

I only have tested it forward for two weeks now, and I know that's nothing, The worst drawdown so far was 25%, that one worked itself out by itself. At another point it was stuck in a DD of about 10% for a day, not opening new positions for quite a while, so I just closed all and started again. Apart from that i just leave it alone and have it run for 24/5.
I want to test it at least 6 months, and if I ever go live with it, I will go with a mini account and the minimum amount for this EA. At 100% I will take out my investment, and just go on with bank money. That's the only way I will ever touch Forex again. I lost too much last summer, because I thought I had found the golden goose, and pretty much ran three large accounts into the ground with it.

So I re-started a demo with thous Pairs & Broker and the thing took off, see attached statement.
I wish I would have know this a month ago.
Anyways I'll test this setup for a few weeks and see how it works out.
Note: I've updated the EvoV statement showing the few hours of trading with the new setup today.. | Attached are the results for this setup above, just like the website, using 3 brokers 500:1 at Alpari-Uk and FxPro Theirs one more running at CMSFX 400:1 and will post it soon.

| OK thanks Peter, I was wondering if you had developed some kind of basic plan based on your 2 weeks of testing. So if it did at least 5% a day on profitable ones and closed on ones that went to 10% DD, would you have at least 7 out of 10 profitable days? That would be at least 5% profit every 2 weeks. If you can do the equity trail stop loss on the profitable days, it can probably do much better without having to watch it.
I understand your hesitation about forex EAs since I have been testing all types both free and commercial for 3 months myself and none have done well enough to go live with yet. It always fails just when you think you found the holy grail which makes me !! But I might have 1 that I will go live with next month so we can see how things go.

TM | Been at this 4+ years with EA's on both mt3 &4 thousands of dollars spent on dozen's commercial EA's many thousands of dollars lost using real money after months of good forward testing results then they just blow-up on many brokers.
I hear lots of stories, seen lots of statements (not backtests) nothing has worked to-date.
I have one still testing but its not happy right now just dumped two weeks of profits in a few hours today.
If it can't be left unattended to trade then its not a real EA IMHO its an assistant.
One day maybe, good luck..

| Wow marlintrdg, it was going well then dropped off a cliff! Just like lots of others we've seen huh? I'm in a group now that is testing various settings with one of the more complex EAs and I think we are approaching something that might work but I would be hesitant to just set it and forget it.
But if you've been at it for 4+ years and all of these people on these boards have collectively hundreds of years of experience with EAs with no definite winner, I guess we have to almost conclude that there is no 100% automatic EA that would work over time. But also I know some friends who are making 20%-30% a month with a small amount of time monitoring them (maybe 1 hour a day) so that maybe the realistic way to go.
