| | Rookie Pip Officer | Very interesting conversation. I think Stormin Norman's comments were building up to a sales pitch. As he said no commercial EA is profitable, no free EA is profitable, but if we write our own we can make a very profitable EA. We all know writing an EA, good or bad, is very complex. But wait, he has written the 'best' EA and won't sell it, but will run it in his managed fund accounts! OK, Stormin Norman tell us the details of your managed funds service. By the way, I have invested in several managed funds in the past, and most have been losers. Even though they claimed to have the best system around with lots of proof. |

| | Pip Chief of Police and Site Owner | I've had a few folks attempt to break the site rules and advertise commercial products without an approved vendor account. And, like any good website, when advertisers and spammers try and infiltrate, it means we have a good community and they want to partake.
However, I also don't see any of those folks ... or their posts ... or any trace of them.
Do you?
You just do your thing, I'll do mine.
Also, just as an FYI - if you see a post which violates the site rules, please click the "Report this post" icon at the bottom left of the post and I will be personally notified and will take action.
(Hint: I erase them.) |

Thank you for your consideration. | If that's addressed to me PipCop, I genuinely apologise for jumping in with both feet. I just hate supercillious people. In any case, Norman made it clear that he would never share any of his methods, so there was little anyone on here would have learned from him.
We all know there is no 'Holy Grail' in Forex, and that most likely includes any of Stormin Normans EA's or anyone elses for that matter. No-one can predict the future.
But, Robo Miner seems as close as anyone has come so far to providing an EA that when managed properly with dilligent money management strategies COULD make it's users a nice income.
Nothing is ever guaranteed and I don't receive any commission from anyone involved with Robo Miner, but I will defend it to the best of my ability as it's one of the best EA's around and represents a great chance for average Jo to learn about Forex from the creators of the EA and to make some money.

| | Rookie Pip Officer | Hi
I don't wish to get embroiled in some argument, however I thought Stormin Norman's comments were of use. I was assuming he was going to post one of his own EA's so as to illustrate his point .
I'm not saying he was advertising his EAs or his funds. That's not how I read it, however I would have found it helpful to see a bare bones EA ... with comments from its creator.
I appreciate it's his property and he can do as he pleases with it, of course. And by the looks of things he doesn't need any help with testing. |

here is my last effort. it is on final development. version 12. while this version has only been forward tested for 10 days, it predecessors have been tested, and refined over almost a year.
the development is in mt4 as it offers (imo) the best forward testing mechanisms. once the final version runs for 3 months on a live demo it gets given $10,000 of my own money. when it reaches $100,000 it is deemed worthy to be coded into java and used on the accounts.
don't be defeatist. the coding is logical. it is nothing more then a series of instructions to a computer. if you have the system, and you trade it profitably it can be taught to a computer. who with no emotion, no sleep and no mistake will do a better and more profitable job of trading then yourself can or could.
if computers cannot understand you because you cannot code, befriend someone who can. if you understand the markets, and find someone who can talk to computers you can make EAs far more effectual and profitable then those offered by chareltons. i am not doubting some may work; but any truely profitable system will no be shared for $100, or $200 or even $1000. it is worth more then sales or subscriptions could be.
but here is some semblance of proof. the final v12 of the bunjip system. it won't satisfy all. but i hope it inspires a few to either code your system yourself, or find a friend who can talk to the computer for you.
there are no free lunches, nor are there commercial EAs which will let you retire for $250. it is illogical.
Excuse the last two dips. the yen was mean to me yesterday and dropped 300 points. then the euro dipped 200. it caused those nasty spike downwards. the EA is designed for $10,000 account; but tested with $1,000 to try and 'kill' it. | Dear Stormin Norman,
Can you please advise where we can find the bunjip system? I tried google, but no succes.
A long time ago I learned the language "basic". It doesn't exist anymore I think, but I do have an idea how hard it is to program something once I look at it. I have seen the open codes of a lot of $100,- experts and most are just one piece of paper once printed. If your bunjip system is something like that I would even consider learning metaquotes language for the purpose.
But then I still would need the system ofcourse. Can you please post a link or post the entire system please? |

| | Rookie Pip Officer | I'm testing the robominer, all transactions made so far went positive with profits from 22 to 35, this EA seems to work very good, no loses so far.
I'm using FxPro as broker and they have tight spreads. This ea is something I'll buy for sure, money well spent. |

| | Rookie Pip Officer | PipCop, what balance did you start the Robo Miner live test with?
I am guessing at $5,000 but not sure. Just trying to evaluate the large draw down currently at around $760
Thanks.
(I know we can use the Change Profit EA to alter the T/P on open trades, but I'm still unsure as to when and why we use it. I know how it works but would like to know more.)
