Parabolic SAR robot Review - Pip Cop

As promised to David Jukl, the Parabolic SAR EA which he provided is being tested.

I just do not get Short only....(this is stupid)

This bias is not explained. I am sorry. I posted this in the other thread and did not get any explanation. Is this some sort of a weighted calibration for shorts only...or it just works good right now?....Can we run the Long Only version side by side? Hey we could weight that too (opposite of Short

only) and get a double whammy...no?

I mean...yeah anybody can curvefit a direction to work for a little while I suppose...I am not a backtester or an optimized dude ☺...I am a forward tester only...but I need to understand stuff..

I realize a price generally falls faster (not necessarily more) than it rises....but I would like to hear more about why Short only please? If this system uses small TP

's and SL

's and momentum...Then I stand corrected. But please explain. The nature of SAR may or may not explain this...The trend

A Short only system that does well...can do equally just as bad when the market changes...will it go to Long only then after losing all of its profits? No?

Perhaps the author of this EA or the presenter could show some screenshots and annotations...I need to know if this is a novice trader of another losing idea...I will be the first to apologize if this is something other than I suspect...Otherwise, This is a stupid idea.

P.S. I knew of a system once that used virtual trading to make a high probability decision with...it would trade & trade & trade in the background with its algorithm then when the High Probability Short

to arrive. The EA would trigger based on the training of the progression and statistics on the virtual side. I see no evidence of that with this EA. This one-sided EA is just assuming all will stay the same as it is and does not interact with change or adapt. I believe we can modify it to be a great EA...so please do not misunderstand me ok? ☺

We need a bigger audience here at PipCop...please post the link around to other traders ok...do not get yourself banned from forums and blogs though...we need more readers and posters...I feel like I am posting to myself and two or three others..

There is great quality possible here...I hope that you can see that...Perhaps some resident coders and testers could post some thoughts here?...We want this place to survive...

You know there is room for much more. There are only a handful of sites that are populated in Forex...why can't PipCop be one of them?...All of the other sites are dead...it's just a handful of them that are used daily...

I am trying to promote discussion here...some of you know me....My goals are honorable...I am not always right and sometimes for a reason...SPEAK UP!.... POST!

James, You might send a global email out to the subscribers here to check in and read the latest contributions...Tell them this place is filled with quality commentary and there are some exciting members and tests. I'm finding that the word is getting and out and more people are visiting the site, so things will pick up. You have to remember that this is a very new site - it's only been converted to the forums a month ago or so. However, I am finding more and more people are coming here by word of mouth - the second most used keyword people are using at Google, etc., is "PipCop". I've also seen some posts on other sites of folks who are spreading the word.

I've been running sites like this one for a long time, and I fully expect that within a year this site will be so busy it will be hard to keep up.

I'm not sure about this. When you look at the code it has code there that looks like it should open buy orders?

Yes, that could go long

, however the author has recommended to only allow short

trades when setting this up. I followed his recommendations, and so far it's doing really well!

I thought you were saying the EA was incapable of trading short

. Whereas, the top of the post suggests to only allow it to trade short

My mistake. That is odd. I agree the person who submitted it should give a brief explanation for this.

btw - I've just installed this EA on a demo account (long and short

) to see what happens.
