hi BigS,
Unless an EA performs it's trade functions only after close of bar and uses that C(-1) thereupon, one can't expect back-test to replicate tick movement on SLs, TP 's, and any other arbitrary tick moved caused trade open/closes. That's why when I "developed" an EA (tee-hee ) with inputs from pipcop & his forum I made sure I engineering-wise looked into what's needed & wanted for said EA "product".
So one never knows otherwise if back-test gives ANY sort of indication as to how it will perform walk-forward-live-wise.
Beyond that, who knows, an EA author could have stuck his ruler to charts "burning-(much)-the-midnite-oil" and actually HAVE some kind of method for SLs, TP 's, Open/Close-stops, be-damned how ticks come across them, so back-tests COULD show bad things while live in these cases would be good! (if any EA of such nature exists)

Ok, thanks for the info, very good to know! I have just noticed through empirical testing that MT4 back testing is not very reliable. It is too bad MT4 platform has no reliable back testing facility, forward testing of course is the best, but takes do bloody long time, got to have atleast 3-5 month FT to really say much, unless using scalper or other EA where market exposure is very limited

Default Maestro Support/Forum?

Hello,

I'm new here (and new to Forex, for that matter). Can anyone tell me if Maestro has a support group or members forum? All I've seen, so far, is the hype advertising on their website. Therefore, I normally wouldn't consider this EA. However, the PipCop tests seem promising and the price is relatively modest. (Reliability in adverse circumstances may be another matter entirely!)

Thanks!

Pipcop,

I emailed Cynthia and she said on the "advanced version" it is FirebirdV63H02-TS.mq4. She also sent me the set files with the settings on it. However, when I try and download it its for MetaEditor. Usually, you can copy and paste the EA in Program files.

Is there a way to find and download Firebird Version 63H? This version has the trailing stop feature.

Also, not sure how to attach the set files so users/readers may want this and could be helpful.

Can you help me out?

Thanks!
Shawn

I am not sure where you would download that from, but I bet Google could help!

Here's how to attach files:

Pippin, I am not sure if they have a support forum. Do they have anything linked from their site?

If not, you're always welcome to create a thread to see if members here can help you out.

Default Awesome

I was just about to purchase this EA, though decided to do some research on it first. I'm glad I did. From the accounts you are showing, it does not appear that this robot is performing as it has been advertised. Should I stay away from this robot?

Thank you.

Apparently not, at least from their hyped advertising page.

As Maestro is Firebird, and as Firebird is extensively covered (and freely available) at ForexFactory, there's really no need, but many thanks anyway.
