| Ok, thanks for the reply.
I actually use zonealarm and superantispyware who both detected it. Approx one week ago when this happened I found it had installed the virus 'spyware protect 2009'.
As long as you have done what you can and are aware of the matter. |

| You may want to try the 30-day trial of NOD32 ( www.eset.com) or Kaspersky ( www.kaspersky.com) to see if they pick it up. I use NOD32 which I highly recommend and it's fine. I recommend it after being a Windows systems adminstrator for about 10 years now. |

| I have no problems picking it up or finding the trojan/virus. The fact is it shouldn't be there in the first place to pick up. |

| I have forwarded this onto Jerry to see what he can do. The biggest issue I have is the inability to recreate this and provide meaningful information he can use to fix it. However, I know security is a concern, so perhaps he can come up with a solution. |

| PipCop,
Can I ask why some of your demo accounts are using 0.1 lots and others 0.01 lots? Surely 0.1 cant be right with just a $5000 account?
I thought it was meant to be 0.01 lots per $2000 in the account, so shouldn't you be trading 0.02 then moving on to 0.03 when the balance reaches $6000?
Also, can anyone explain the 'Shadow' feature of this EA to me. Is it some kind of hedging strategy using a different currency pair ? How does it work?
Thanks everyone for your help |

I could change the lot sizes, but generally speaking I don't as I want the test to run "as advertised". Once I get into the realm of optimizing and tweaking and so forth, then it's not really a review of the robot, but more a test of different settings. At this stage I am not really set up to be able to do that kind of live testing. Maybe I'll do that in the future. Quote:

| Here's what the sales blurb says on the ForexGoldmine website- The GT-Shadow can trade 2 currency pairs of your choosing at one time, in your own customized hedge configuration. In this case, the GT-Shadow will calculate a "shadow" profit based on what your profit would be if you were trading those two pairs, and it will enter and exit the market at opportune times based on that shadow profit calculation. This is a very new and exciting concept in forex trading.
OK, I admit to being a bit thick but this doesnt mean alot to me!
I understand the reason for trading a basket of currencies to reduce risk, but what is currency shadowing? |

| I honestly don't know! I would suggest sending an email to their support team to ask if they can better explain it. Of course, GT-Shadow is designed for advanced traders, so if you're not entirely familiar with all the terms then you may want to stay away from it and use RoboMiner instead (if you're looking at his products only). |

| I am trying to backtest GT-Shadow with Goldminer preset on a demo account, but nothing happens. I use H1 period and the "factory default" settings. I wonder what is the problem... |
