just figured it out , , , it had to do with how some brokers name their currency

pairs. with gain capital they use FXF at the end of each pair. u have to edit this in the settings of gt-shadow. its up n running now. thanks anyways pipcop.

Hi guys,
first post here, big fan of gt shadow and his slow but consistent monthly profit.
Now I'm trading it with activtrades with 20 pips spread

. I'd like to move towards FXCM which has the best spread

for AUDNZD I think.

Does anybody is using this broker

successfully?. It is a 5 digits broker

. I mounted GT on a demo platform and it is not working.
I tried to change this settings as I read in this thread:

TradeRange=400 (instead of 40)
TradeWindow=50 (instead of 5)
Slippage

=160 (instead of 16)

but the EA doesn't open trades. If anybody is GT Shadow on FXCM, why not send here the .set file?

Hi Davide,

Did you try the canned settings that are provided with GT-Shadow?

I have just bought another GT-Shadow licence to use with the other broker

that I have and it did not trade in spite of the fact that it is a 4 digit broker

. It started trading only after I opened the new settings for AUDNZD. (The broker

is not FIFO

dependent so I set this property to false).

hey it has just open a trade right now. It was just a matter of time maybe. I will keep you informed about performances on this broker

In my case it was not a matter of time because it missed 2 opportunities to sell before it finally kicked off (after my tinkering with the settings). Anyway we are on the wave...

hey I forgot to say that I've made a change on this setting in order to make gt shadow works on 5 digits broker

(such as fxcm):

TradeRange: 1.19111 instead of 1.911

If you upgrade to the latest version of GT-Shadow, Jerry now includes a 5-digit setting file as part of the package. You can download the entire thing here:

If you have a live account, that download will upgrade you to the latest version. If you don't, you can use it on a demo account.

Hey Pipcop,

I was checking out the statements here and noticed all the losses in the Alpari US statement and the fact that the profit is only $4 per day with a 0.10 lot size. What gives?

Alpari US GT-Shadow is a victim of NFA rules. I guess Pipcop had to close the open trades and swich to FIFO

trading...

(Well, using 0.1 lots with such a small account is not exactly what was recommended by GM author

)

That was exactly what happened. I have since updated to the latest version of the robot so now we will see how the new version continues on.

However, seeing as how it's doubled it's account balance in a year, a few losses are nothing bad IMO. I mean, most other robots I hope for at least more than half the trades to be winners, expecting the other half (or more) to be losers. With RM and GTS I am spoiled since I know they will almost always be winners!
