vogeleznag: I am surprised to hear this -- AUD/NZD has been pretty active in the recent weeks and EUR/CHF has just sprang to life yesterday. Overall I noted ca 40% increase in balance of my account. Current drawdown is ca 5%... Not bad, IMO. It's far from 200% that Peter achieved, but I am quite comfortable with it.

Hi everyone,

Its been about 4 months since I bought my GT-Shadow license so I thought I would give you an update:

I started trading just EURCHF because of the low spread but quickly found it doesn't get many trades because its mostly sluggish.

After a month I started AUDNZD as well and found it to be a much more lively pair (hence far more profitable.) This is despite the huge 20pip spread on Alpari. I started heavily weighting this pair in preference to EURCHF (am now trading the upper 22 ranges at 0.1 lots)

I briefly tried EURCHF on a 20pip grid with mixed results: many more trades but for much less profit. Eventually I went back to the old 40pip grid.

Recently I've introduced the EURGBP in a 50pip 'reverse order' grid between 0.8400 and 0.9400 which seems to be doing OK.

Overall I think GT-shadow is an excellent, powerful trading tool which is capable of achieving good long-term results. The secret to using it is to understand how to calculate risk and not become over-confident.
Take a look at my stats for the last 3 months (mostly GTS with some MD / FAPT). The initial deposit was £4000 back at the start of the year. Maximum drawdown so far has been 15%.

Good trading to all.

P.S. I still havn't worked out how to use the 'shadow' function!

Hi LadySarah,

Do you use Robominer settings or dynamic grid with AUDNZD?

Hi Pipdetector,

AUDNZD is a fixed 40pip grid as Robominer, except I have Forward end=22, Reverse start=44. This avoids trading the central 1/3 of the range .

I tried the dynamic grid using the 'gridweaver' set file a demo account but came to the conclusion that static grid is more stable and predictable.

Hi LadySarah,

I also think that central part of the range is most tricky, but I cope with it using "dynamic" money management -- I simply use minimal position sizes close to the mid range and I increase the stake when the price goes closer to the range limits. However, AUDNZD is the only currency pair with which I feel at ease with this "policy".

I agree that is a good strategy and I would consider using it myself if/when the AUDNZD drops below range 44.

It would be good if this feature could be built in to future versions of GTS.

Here's an FAQ about that:
http://www.forex-goldmine.biz/forums...oting#faq_ea30

You also need to be sure you are using the newest version of GT-Shadow. If not, download the update from the downloads page of that site.
