You need to remove V36 completely before installing V37 and don’t forget to update the DLL with the new version
Then activate the software with your old activation key - it will work
I did not remove the old version at all. Whoops! |
Its more likely that you didnt update the .dll file. Theres no noticable exterior difference between the old and new file, but not updating it (a simple write over) will produce the error you mentioned. Having more than one version of FAPT in my menu never seemed to affect the running of a new version, although I have removed them as they no longer work.
The overall profits in this testing are still very poor, compared to my own results, although Alpari does seem to be doing fair. I think most of the problem is trying to use the default settings too strictly. The risk and
spread
filter needs to be adjusted for each pair to trade well. The settings of 5% risk and 5 pip
spread
are just guidelines to safeguard newbies. The risk should be set by the potential loss, and the
spread
filter needs to be adjusted to fit the particular pair. On a dedicated account with no other trading going on a 5% risk setting will never produce enough profit to make it worthwhile, and a 5 pip
spread
filter simply wont trade at all....
On the default settings the profit and loss parameters are as follows:
eurgbp,
SL
112,
TP
6
eurchf,
SL
53,
TP
5
gbpchf,
SL
75,
TP
10
usdcad,
SL
58,
TP
10
This does not mean it will hit these numbers. It often takes profit at less than the limit, and generaly takes losses in the same
range
as the profits. But these are the internal limits and should be noted when setting risk levels.
