James, think about that though; even a few minutes delay could substantially alter your performance. Let's say you and I setup a EA, and our private version is 60 seconds ahead of the version we sell to the public. We would make a fortune, even if the EA itself was completely BS, simply be getting hundreds of people to simultaneously place identical orders, immediately after ours.

Count me as a concerned trader. I don't suspect front-running but this kind of code has the indirect (or direct as intended?) effect of hindering us from quantitatively testing the performance of this EA on different brokers and on demo verses live accounts.

I smell obfuscation

If it was in minutes, then yes it's an issue. Without seeing the code I have no idea what it is doing. Sharing the code on my site is against the site rules, so I can't ask for anyone to post any of it.

However, I was thinking that it would have been okay if it were in terms of a few seconds - perhaps 5 to 10 seconds max - but even that is not ideal.

You'll never know one way or another if there is front-running, but you can pretty much assume that is happening, after all, the author knows that hundreds or thousands of orders will follow his, so he has a built-in advantage, even if it's not malicious.

I think I like the 'managed account' concept better. If I had a proven strategy in Forex, I wouldn't sell robots, I would take a cut of the profit. Eliminate all this stuff. Sorry, James.

No worries, I have no idea and I don't mind one way or the other so long as the robot performs.

Coincidentally, their customer service team called me to confirm it was working well. I like that they actually have enough staff to do that, so that's a good thing to make a note of.

If you want to see the random value - change your "WriteDebugLog" parameter to true. You would see the how many seconds the "random" delay before it sends an order

Hi Pipcop, The Alpari account still isnt making any trades.
Is there a problem with FAP Turbo?

I am not sure, but it is on my list of things to check today. The MetaTrader instance for Alpari was locked up yesterday, so I think it may be a software issue and not the robot.

I believe something strange and probably isolated happened with Alpari. My EA did in fact de-activate and requested my copy to be activated. I am researching this problem as I do have this EA on a live account of 1,700.00 USD.
Support will be contacting me tommorrow regarding this but I did find out that the EA de-activated itself at exactly 2:01 PST, as I believe this is when it is programmed to start trading.
I monitored the EA today at exactly this time and it did not de-activate.
I am also having results just as I have expected from all of my testing and investigating.
I also found out that this EA once installed and running DOES NOT "call home". It just runs.
I posted on my trading journal that I messed up my results by manual trading and I very stupidly put Maestro on the same account as Fap Turbo. I lost almost 1,000 of my account in one day...this was on last Thursday before the Non Farm Payroll Report. I have since taken all contaminants off my account and I am just running Fap Turbo, as I should be. It is already recovering from this Chaos I created.
