Now we know it can trade; the question is, can Megadroid make enough small gains to pay for the inevitable big loss? | My live account made one trade last night for a 14.8 pip gain.
The keys (IMHO) are:
1. Be consistent. Don't keep changing the risk.
2. Don't put the risk any higher than 0.05(5%), preferably 0.03(3%).
When the inevitable loss(es) strike, you will be able to weather the storm and a much smaller percent of your account will have been lost. Yes, your account will accumulate at a slower rate .

| Megadroid Hi Rick,
Thanks for the sound advice. I tend to keep bumping up the size of my trades and then bang! I thought the advice from Fapwinner was too aggressive. 20 or 30%?? |

I thought the advice from Fapwinner was too aggressive. 20 or 30%?? | IMHO, all of the published settings that I have seen are way too high. Even the defaults upon installation are high. 5% for FAP Turbo is too high especially given it tendency to hit the SL . MegaDroid's default is way too high at 10%.
After yesterday's near miss with FAP Turbo, I have reduced the risk in my live account of both FAP Turbo and MegaDroid to 3%.

| Apr 20-24 Results It was a good trading week for me and my live account. I am still trying to recover from the big loss on Apr 13. The best day this week for me was yesterday despite the fact that FAP Turbo started loosing late in the trading session. My demo account took a big hit since it is set up to use very high risk.
Week: $197.32 profit, 4.4% ROI, $39.46/day
After the near miss yesterday with FAP Turbo, I think I have learned my lesson about risk not being any more than 3%. I have changed the risk on all live account pairs/EA's to 3%.
The GBPUSD mechanical system I have been trading since Feb 11 is showing very good promise. I have been trading this system in my demo account since Apr 13. During the time trading in my demo account, this system has 2 wins and 2 losses for an 80 pip gain. At month end wrap up next Fri, I will report on 3 months trading with this system. My plans are to introduce this system into my live account at week start of trading on Sunday May 10.

| Hi Rick,
Congratulations on the profit.
My Megadroid live on IBFX did not trade Thursday, although Apari and Gain showed a trade late at night GMT. So I had only 2 trades last week. I have shut down Friday. Will load Ver 1.1 and go live again Monday.
Be careful when you go live with your manual trading system. Keep in mind the brokers have their own robot that I call Pacman. When Pacman is not taking trades and doing his bookkeeping, he is deciding whether to raise or lower the price. Pacman has a list of stop losses and take profits. Pacman's job is to gobble up stop losses and avoid take profits. Pacman won't attack your position in a demo; but when you go live your stop loss becomes a target for a stop gunning exercise. Good luck with your system! |

I am well familiar with the differences between demo and live accounts. I see it all the time. I am also familiar with broker stop hunting and some brokers (hopefully, not mine) actively trading against us. Take a look at this thread which is a wild variation in which the current price is extended upwards by broker to trigger a trade entry so that the trade can be quickly stopped out. And this maneuver occurred on my demo account. I checked the live account charts and they show the same thing so the same thing would have happened if I was trading a live account.

| Changes This Week I have made a lot of trading account changes this week.
1. I added the USDCAD FAP Turbo pair to my live account. This pair is currently the most profitable of all of them that I am running in my demo account. LRR 2.5 for now.
2. Yesterday (Tuesday) I added Robominer with the AUDNZD pair to my demo account. I have demoed Robominer before but this time, I want to make sure it is going to play nice with FAP Turbo and MegaDroid.
3. Today, I closed down the second and third demo accounts. Actually, there are still there. I put The MasterMind 3 EA on each of these two accounts with different settings. The EA's that I was running: 20/200 and Forex-AI V3 have proven themselves to be unprofitable and have been removed from service.
Last night was a losing night for me with FAP Turbo. I had two losses with the EURCHF pair: one large and one small and another large loss with the GBPCHF pair. Note that at LRR 3, a large loss is about $46-50.

| Robominer/GT-Shadow and MegaDroid I am using GT-Shadow with MegaDroid on my live account and so far they seem to coexist in perfect peace.
I think that it's a good time to kick off Robominer with AUD/NZD pair as it is close to historical peaks so assuming they are not breached the drawdown should be limited.

| Multiple Robots I usually run several robots. I have to give each one a separate magic number (Megadroid needs 2). I have to put them all on the same page and make sure that page is up front and running when I leave to go do my email or quit for the day. If I switch to another page in my Metatrader4, it will disable my robots on the page I just left (as show in the experts tab).
I had no Megadroid trade on Tuesday 4/28. |
