Smile Stop losses

Hi Pipdetector, Thanks for the reply. I thought I was alone with no trades.
You and rsmereka were discussing Fapturbo scalping 6 pips vs a stop loss at over 100. Yeah, it is crazy. I know they say it was optimized, probably on a back test. Nevertheless, every trade is different; since the chart patterns are always changing.
After suffering 3 bad losses of about $150 each in a row, I now do the following: I check out the trend in a longer time frame, go into the robot's property page and set the Long/Short button to match the trend . If the robot is trading and the trend changes, I manually close the trade. After Fapturbo has made a trade, I check out longer time frames, looking for support/resistance. I reset my stop loss manually just beyond support or resistance , depending on whether I am long or short . If the price has already blown through S/R, I manually close the trade. Yeah, I know, I might as well be trading on a purely manual basis; but I have to work for a living; I can't sit home and watch my screen all day. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat jerrycollie. I have not had a MegaDroid trade on my live or demo Alpari UK account since April 9th. Other than checking for the smiley face, make sure your MetaTrader is at version > build 220 and make sure there are no error messages in the journal or the experts log. It sounds like you set the EA up correctly and you are in the same boat with the rest of us...welcome, but the water is cold.

Smile Megadroid in cyber void

Hi Rick, Thanks for the reply.
I am suspicious about the autoGMT line. I think I will change it from true to false and set my GMT in the manual line; then see if Megadroid trades. My reason is that IBFX uses GMT in its Market line; but uses New York time in its Expert and Journal tabs. If Megadroid is picking up New York time instead of GMT, this would throw it off by 4 hours. This would put Megadroid in a more volatile trading hour; so maybe Megadroid would not trade.
The other thing I have found, I have several pages in my MetaTrader4, each showing different sets of currency pairs; if I switch from my robot page to another page which I use for manual trades, then MetaTrader4 shuts down my robot until I return to that page. This is not a real problem; since I do this in the evening and morning here in California and this does not interfere with the robot's favorite GMT trading time of 2100 to 2300 GMT. However, if I forget to switch back to the robot page, then the robot remains inactivated until I return the next day.

This behavior is MetaTrader and not your broker per say. I have noticed that the logs (experts and journal) are in your local time zone and the trades including the navigator and the statement files are in your brokers time zone. Quite irritating and very inconsistent. My broker (Alpari UK) is the same.

Default MegaDroid V1.1

The MegaDroid team released V1.1 of this EA. I received notice of the update by email too late for last nights' trading. In lieu of the fact that MegaDroid has not traded for me since Apr 9th, I welcome this update and hope that the trading frequency of this EA is more consistent.

I have put V1.1 of MegaDroid on my demo account at risk level 0.025 and I have pulled MegaDroid from my live account until I am confident that the new update is viable.

Default V1.1 Upgrade or just killing bugs?

Hi Rick,
I am still running V1. If I get any live trades, I will post them here. I will wait until the weekend to switch over. I suspect V1.1 is just an update to correct some bugs, like error 1000. If they had improved the logic, they would call it V2. Keep us posted on V1.1 on your demo.

I am not sure if logic changed, but it finally started to do trades...

Default Megadroid Ver 1

I manually set my GMT offset to 0 for IBFX and set Megadroid V 1 to go on Tuesday. Ver 1 made a nice accurate scalping trade on a tight range pattern for a win of 13 pips late Tuesday night at 23.59 GMT. I will upgrade to Ver 1.1 Saturday.

I am glad that your V1 of MegaDroid is trading. I could not get mine to trade at all although I did not try to put the time zone on manual.

My demo account running V1.1 had 2 successful trades last night. I am putting MegaDroid on my live account at risk 0.025 and upping the risk on my demo account to 0.05.

Default Megadroid V1

Megadroid V1 made another trade on 4/22 at 22.54 for a gain of 12 pips.
Now we know it can trade; the question is, can Megadroid make enough small gains to pay for the inevitable big loss?
