I don't know about now but CNS used to be an advertiser here.

The so-called value plan is, by default, based on 384KB RAM which is terrible. You would be lucky to get one instance of MetaTrader running.

I looked at CNS when I started using a VPS about two years ago. I found their website and plans to be very confusing and it was very expensive. That is why I ended up with ForexVPS. I am fairly happy with ForexVPS. They have issues which I have managed to work around. They now also have UK servers (for $20 more a month).

Rick
its 384mb i think. not kb. and it should be enough each meta trader needs 128mb and im only planning on using 1 or 2 max. anyways i just heard a lot of good things about it thats all.

i also heard that the position of the data center for forexvps is not close enough to the trader servers so the ping is not as low. the ping on cns is 1-2 for atc

Sorry,

384mb not kb.

Make the choice that is right for you. With a VPS, just keep in mind the following:

1. The VPS providers partake in deceptive advertising. They all do it. It revolves around RAM. That 384mb they say you will get will not be 384mb when you connect to the running desktop. You see, the RAM amount they quote does not include the amount of RAM required for the OS (Windows). In my case, the desktop just sitting there doing nothing consumes 120mb of RAM.

2. The amount of RAM you need for Metatrader is based on MT4 base memory + number of open charts + EA's + Strategy Tester. If you want to test an EA, lets say that runs on 10 pairs, that instance of MT4 is going to consume a lot of RAM. The Strategy Tester in particular, consumes a lot of memory.

I started with a 512mb VPS and found that this was not enough for two MT4 instances when I wanted to run the Strategy Tester on one of them. Several times, I exceeded my allowable memory. Now, I have a 1gb desktop and most of the time, I am hovering around 400mb with five MT4 instances but that will go up a lot if I am backtesting on one of them.

As I mentioned in my last post, ForexVPS has issues. Their Internet response could be better but 15ms is still way better than if I was running MT4 from home.

when i think about it.. its all about lowest cost of ownership and lowest execution time.

which means ping... processing speed, and just enough ram so i don't have to pay extra every month. back testing doesn't have to be done on VPS but getting first news, first signal, first order before anybody else does is what i think really important.

brokers spike spreads... but if ur the first one to buy. they won't have a chance to spike ur spread . so in that case. u win. and u save. and u are able to do more trades... more chance to win/lose hopefully the ladder

of course its al theory haha...

Getting First News,

Don't tell me you are going to trade the news If so, that is a hard game. I wouldn't touch it.

Getting the signal first is also not that important for an EA trader. The important part is being fast enough so that your order is filled in the current tick without the price changing. That is why you need fast execution and low latency.
