I changed the trading hours to 20:00-22:00 on The Channel Scalper in my demo account after the newer version (1.11) was making too many trades and taking a lot of chances. True version 1.11 was profitable but was way too volatile for my liking.

I just put EB-Turbo (trading the EURUSD M5 turbo strategy only strategy) back onto my live account at minimum risk. This EA/strategy combination has not lost any trade (live or demo) since I started using this EA on October 16, 2009. My demo account has had 169 trades and my live account has had 86 trades. |

| Clobbered The free margin on my live account was getting too low (less than 2K) and I was forced to either add more cash (which I did not have), leave it and run the distinct risk of blowing the entire account or closing all the open trades and taking the loss. I chose to close all the open trades. As a result, I have lost 85% of my live account equity. Live and learn. Back to the drawing board.
At the same time, I also closed almost all the open trades on my demo account. Since I pulled Robominer from my demo account months ago, the impact on the account was a lot less severe.

| I did a couple of stupid AUD/NZD trades recently assuming that the range will hold so I have lost half of my paper profit so far and the drawdawn is getting close to 50%... |

When you say 'paper profit' are you referring to losses if you close the trade or to a demo account? Are you referring to a live or demo account.
This near blowup is going to leave a nice scar for me to show off anytime I get cocky.

| Well I was also sorry to hear about your move with your live account. This must have hurt.
By paper profits I meant the profits that I showed on my balance on FXDD MT4 live account. I said paper profit because it would have become "real" only after the drawdown decreased to a reasonable level.
I do not know what's worse watching the catastrophe happening or looking at the ruins afterwards. Mine is the former case.
One thing is sure, I started to appreciate the EAs that do shorter term trades |

I also really appreciate EA's that get in, do there business and get out.

Rick | Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that Rick. Been there, done that...never feels good. For me, my #1 demo of the week is RSI Expert v1.05 on 1M charts. Just started Sunday, 35 closed transactions, 8 open as of right now...started balance 5,000, current 5747 with equity of 5608. Drawdown of only 5.02% only. Just started on 5M charts & similar results, but less transactions. It's been less than a week and we are up 14.95%! I think I'm going to go public with MYFXBOOK...not sure how to do it..I'm new to this site.
Good luck Rick, you need to rebound ...that's Forex life Dan |

At this rate , I could be back to breakeven in a couple of weeks Let me know where I can get my hands on the EA.
I guess the key is the fact that you are demoing it. Scalpers do not far so well on real accounts, but who knows... |
