rsmereka, how would you rate EB Turbo, as I think you are the only one here using it. Is it good for novices? Any information would be appreciated.

Although I am not finished with my evaluation of EB-Turbo I would rate it very highly. It is tops in the EURUSD category of EA's that take much smaller profit that it's stop loss per trade. In the same category are: MegaDroid, Pips Miner, Forex Nuke, VForce Like EA (aka Magic Machine), Otkat (aka PipZu) and, I'm sure, lots of other EA's.

Summary:
Pros:
1. It trades all times
2. It's accuracy is amazing
3. It has complete MM
4. It is not a scalper (contrary to some people's belief, it aims for 10-25 pips per trade)
5. The long-term back test results are perfect (does not mean that trading live will be perfect). It's one of only two EA's that I know of that have perfect long-term (4-5 years) backtests. This is a good indication whether the EA is curve-fitted to a specific market (example of curve-fitted EA's are: FAP Turbo, Cyborg and Pips Miner).
6. Not spread sensitive at all

Cons:
1. Like all EA's in this category, when it losses, it losses big SL is 250 pips
2. Trades remain open for days sometimes (you need to be centered and calm and trust that the EA is going to do the right thing, makes you a believer in meditation)
3. Even though technically the EA does and can trade other pairs, don't do it. One look at the backtests and you will see why
4. You need to pull the plug once a month during non-farm payroll (NFP) when the EURUSD market goes haywire. I have been having a battle today getting ready for NFP tomorrow. Meanwhile EB-Turbo has been going nuts with trades 290 pips in 21 trades so far this week. I finally manually closed the last trade at a small loss just to make sure there are no open trades when the title wave hits tomorrow morning.

As far as being easy for newbie's, there are a bunch of variables (more than most EA's). Some need to be tweaked. I am attaching my 'set' file that I use with my live account.

Licensing is better than most EA's. There is just the 'ex4', no Windows 'dll'. The EA comes with a password so it's not locked to a specific account.

I hope that this information helps,
Rick

Default Jan 4-8 Week Results

It was a great week trading my live account. EB-Turbo's performance was stellar at over 275 pips in 22 trades. I manually closed one EB-Turbo trade at a small $25 loss after it lingered into late Thursday and I was concerned about NFP day today. It turns out that my fears were unfounded this time but I am still going to shut off EB-Turbo for NFP day in the future. Results:

It was also a great week trading my demo account although The Channel Scalper was quiet. AUDBounce closed it's second trade for a nice profit even though I entered the wrong TP and, as a result, I only got 20 pips instead of the usual 40. The heavy lifting this week was provided by EB-Turbo. With the increased risk setting, the profits are larger... sweet. Results:

My demo AUDNZD chart with Robominer on it is no longer trading and I think it's interacting with AUDBounce and it's work orders. I posted a message on the Forex Goldmine forum and was told to reload the chart from scratch which I will do this Sunday. More later.

Default Live and Demo Account Changes

I have increased the EB-Turbo risk percent from 4 to 5 on my live account.

I have also removed Robominer (both pairs) from my demo account. Robo has been running on both accounts for some time and there is no need to have it running on my demo account anymore especially since my long-term plans include stop using Robominer. The Robominer open trades on my demo account are now orphaned but they contain a TP point and will close by themselves.

Default New Demo EA and Demo Account Changes

I have completed building a new EA that trades the EURUSD M15. I call this EA Zoid.

I have just placed Zoid on my demo account.

I have also removed MegaDroid from my demo account.

Default Screwing Around with Tick Data

I captured one week's worth of tick data last week and I must say that the experience has overwhelmed me. I was expecting around 8 ticks per minute but I got something quite different.

I captured tick data from three currency pairs:

EURUSD
EURCHF
AUDNZD

Here are the database totals:

48.8mb database file
628,018 ticks captured in the week Jan 4-8
EURUSD: 192,457 ticks = 38,419 ticks per day = 26.73 ticks per minute
EURCHF: 219,337 ticks = 43,867 ticks per day = 30.46 ticks per minute
AUDNZD: 216,224 ticks = 43,245 ticks per day = 30.03 ticks per minute

I was planning to integrate the tick data into MT4Analysis but there is clearly too much data and the time and processing power to move the data from my VPS is significant.

I will re-visit this project when I have a server that can collect tick data and store it on a dedicated large hard drive.

Default FXEB - after almost a month of trading

Regarding my FXEB results, check this out:
https://www.myfxbook.com/portfolio/alpariuk-fxeb/10918

At this moment, I am stuck with ca CHF 2500 drawdown . However, taking into account the EUR/CHF relatively small range and the fact that the price is quite close to the lower bound, I am ready to hold on. The other thing is that I am getting positive rollover so keeping longs open makes sense. The drowdawn is mostly due to EUR/CHF 1.5000 sand of line caving in and a bit too optimistic approach that I took when I started using FXEB.

Right now I think I have found the right formula for trading it -- using two separate windows open for short and long trades. When the trades that are long get stuck (right now), I trade mostly shorts. When the tide turns, I will switch to mostly longs.

The system is not to be switched on and left alone, it needs some care and checking, but I do not mind it, as it seems worth it.

I know the feeling. I am also carrying a significant DD with EURCHF. The daily chart is interesting. A definite drift down after a long channel. My Robo range is 12 with this pair. Your long trading strategy reminds me of AUDBounce, which is my strategy for playing with the AUDNZD pair. It also trades counter-trends.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with Equity Builder. Sounds like your having fun with it

Default EB-Turbo Hard Stop Hit...Again

EB-Turbo just hit it's hard stop (250 pips) on my live and demo account. The last time was on December 4th (NFP day) and I thought it was a quirk and if I keep away from NFP, the chances of EB-Turbo hitting it's hard stop would be greatly diminished. Well I was wrong.

I'll be removing EB-Turbo from trading ASAP.

Back to the drawing board

Rick
