MD made a splendid job of closing the second pair of trades at 15 pips profit and closing the earlier trades at near zero. I am impressed. I was fully aware that today is NF day and that made me really anxious about MD trades, luckily the trades were closed early in the morning.

It's a good thing that EBT trades are small, compared to RM drawdowns they hardly impress.

I had my first FXEB trades on the live account today, all 8 closed with nice profits. I set the EA to trade long only, as I trust in SNB invisible hand and I dread being trapped in one of the sudden price surges when the SNB opens the firehose.

Speaking of opening the firehose,

I just checked my live account and that 90 pips each is now 200 pips each. I think EBT's hard stop is 250 pips. Looks like I'm cooked but I am still hoping.

The good news is that there is only one mini on the table with each trade.

Well, I had a bad week with my live account. MegaDroid had one big loss and EB-Turbo hit it's hard stop on six trades. These losses have set me back almost a month. Results:

Regarding EBT, MD and any scalper: yet again one need to avoid any activity in the close proximity of non-farm employment announcement day. MD had a close shave, EBT did not stand a chance yesterday...


Although I thought that I had a good day yesterday, taking into account the fact that JPY/USD started to go north, I got a bucket of cold water when I checked FXDD bottom line in my MT4 statement, all "profit" was almost zeroed by them. I am furious because in spite of the fact that they went NSA compliant they stated:

Please note: this change will not affect your trading style and will not affect your EA if you use one.

Now, if I see $150 profit in MT4 during the day and they make -$142 "equity synchronisation", then I wonder how this "does not affect my trading style" !

I can only blame myself for the EBT loss. No EA can possibly maintain reasonable profit under those conditions. I am going to keep track on the NF days (first Friday after month end...right?) and manually set EBT to no trading on the Thursday and Friday of that week.

I am not sure I understand what happened to your profit. How did FXDD manage to wipe out your profit with equity synchronization?

This "equity synchronization" is a new invention that FXDD introduced since they got NFA compliant -- Friday was the first time when the "used" this, so as a matter of fact I do not really know how it works. The only facts that I know is that GT made ca $150 closing four USD/JPY trades and one AUD/NZD trade and MT4 showed the closed trades and profits in the history tab, but at the end of the day there was an additional item that read -$142 with the description "ADJ MT equity sync". I will demand explanations tomorrow, but I am pretty sure that they will be covered with some new rules...

Compared to this one FXCM Friday trade that was not execluted, which was shown as executed (for 4 hours) is a piece of cake .

I would be interested in what FXDD says about the so-called equity synchronization. Sounds like a pile of cr*p to me.

I am still licking my wounds from last Friday and trying to modify my EB-Turbo strategy so that it does not happen again. I am developing this pattern that for two or three months, I roll along without any losses at all and then blamo. The same thing happened in August (the last loss that I had with the exception of that one losing EURCHF Robominer trade that FX Nitro closed due to a bug where it modifies trades other than it's own).

On the whole, I am very happy with my Forex performance since Dec last year. From Dec 8th, 2008 when I started running Fap Turbo to today, I have exceeded 100% profit in the year. I am also three months ahead of my long-term plan.

As expected FXDD explained it away, by saying that this does not really affect my trading nor final balance etc. Whatever. The decision was already made and I am moving FXDD account to Alpari UK. I will only wait until the drawdawn clears. I wonder if I will get GT-Shadow license extension for broker migration, because I will not have the account closed that soon...

If you made 100% in spite of the constant headwind of those losses, I can only congratulate you...

In my own case, I will probably will end the year with significant profits (tied with the DD). This is a milestone, because so far the yearly bottom balances were significant (read: even dramatic) losses. This year was a great learning experience.

pipdetector, I am pretty sure Jerry will grant you a new license as many traders are moving away from the US brokers.

I just opened an account with Forex.com UK and it's like night and day - I'm making money every day, as opposed to my IBFX account which is holding all the open trades. I can't wait to close that account.

You are absolutely right. This was a milestone year for both of us. I think we deserve a rest. The two weeks of Dec 21-Jan 2 I am going to shutdown all of my EA's except for Robominer. Last year taught me not to trade (except range traders) during the holidays. I remember it well. That's is when FAPT first encountered heavy losses on Dec 22 & 23.
