I also followed the suit. I wonder why it seems to me like repackaged FAP. I guess I got biased and every ea is now FAP like...

Hi Rick,

I have been watching your stats and comparing them to mine. So far it seems our trades are very close to the same. I am trading the GBP/CHF of course and that is different. I really like to see the EA being consistant across the Board. It seems today was better. I did just barely catch that the GMT time changed today. I am glad I saw fap trading at 1pm PST. I should only trade after 2pm my time and I caught it!!!!! Funny thing is that it started trading 1 hour prior and had all profitable trades!!!!! Funny.
I just saw you purchased the Forex MegaDroid EA. How is it so far. What type of system is it?
I considered buying it but the information on the strategy is vague and non existent. I am curious though if it stands up to its hype.

Keep rolling my Friend! and great luck to us all.

I'm very interested in results with Forex Megadroid. Purchased yesterday and set up against a demo account. However, first thing i noticed was that the max. spread seems to be contiuously exceeded, even when actual spread is on 2 pips. Seems like the current spread calculated is based on the 5 decimal places rather than 4, so is a factor of 10 to high. And this constantly exceeds the max spread level. Anyone else seen this, or can this be fixed?

If the broker is using 5 decimal places, the spread displayed on the chart will be two digits instead of one. My copy of MegaDroid is the same. My broker is Alpari UK which using 5 decimal places and the spread shows as 18. This is actually 1.8.

Default March Results and MegaDroid

My live account did ok for the month of March. I managed to squeeze 6.7% using FAP Turbo. Given the LRR settings I am using, this value should be a lot higher but I am not disappointed or complaining. It's still way better than any bond or mutual fund.

I purchased the MegaDroid EA yesterday (I think I am turning into an EA junkie ) and stuck it on a demo account. The statement is here. So far, it has not made any trades.

I know the feeling. This EA does not remind me of FAP Turbo however. I think it is more discriminating about it's trades. One thing puzzles me. I took a look at the size of the 'ex4' file and the 'dll'. FAP Turbo has a large 'ex4' file and a small 'dll' which tells me that there is a lot of logic in the EA and not much in the 'dll'. Megadroid is exactly the opposite. The 'ex4' is fairly small and the 'dll' is huge which tells me there is a lot going on outside Metatrader. Humm...

The dll can be used for many things, mainly it contains logic that cannot be easily done in MT4. Sometimes it's for security, as MT4 ex4 files can easily be reversed engineered, whereas dll's are harder. If the dll is large, it probably just means most of the logic is in the dll - probably runs quicker in the dll too.

I did a full simulation on Megadroid and results were not nearly good as they made out. Seemed to do a lot of successfull trades, but then completely wipe out most of profits on the one or two losing trades. so returning only a small return in total (although still prob. better than the banks).

Anyway, I have decided to plunge in at the deep end and run it on a small live account and see how it goes. No trades last night though.

Looking at trades on the simulation it does seem remarkably similar to FAP turbo - but happy to just wait and see how it goes.

Thanks for the great point . Of course, it makes sense when there is an MQL4 de-compiler around to put the important logic in the dll.

Which broker is your live account with? What pair(s) are you going with (the manual examples are based on EURUSD but there is mention of other pairs)? What risk level did you decide to go with?

Live account is with Alpari (UK). I'm running the EA on the EURUSD with a risk level of 3.0.

Not much action (well none actually) so far. Will see what happens over night.
