I use InvestTechFX. They offer 1 pip spread on EUR/USD... plus 1 pip commission (I mean 0,10 USD per one 0,01 lot). Incidentally, they call the commission "scalping" charge, because supposedly only the traders who use EAs have to pay it. They do not charge swap rate for EUR/USD at present. I use ITFX only as my "scratch" account -- for scalpers like MD, FAPT and for testing my "hunches" and strategies manually.

It's hard to do a cost analysis between a broker like InvestTechFX who charges commission and a regular spread -based broker where I am paying the rollover fees (which are easy to calculate) and spreads (which are very difficult to calculate because they are hidden). The MT4 statement also does not have a 'spread' column (which it should).

I am assuming you have had a live account with a spread -based broker . What is your feeling on the cost difference?

I have been eying InvestTechFX for some time. They are a Canadian company and there office is about 250km from me.

EB-Turbo trading only the EURUSD pair has done really well since I started using this EA October 16. I hope it keeps up the good work

As per my previous post, I have made the following changes to my live account:

1. MegaDroid risk downgraded to .02 (2%)
2. EB-Turbo risk upgraded to 0.75 (0.75%)

A new version of EB-Turbo has been released (V1.1) which supposedly protects your profit better on open trades.

I have placed this new EB-Turbo version on my demo account and the first thing I noticed that the risk calculation in relationship to the lot size has had a major change. The result lot size is a little less than half of what it was for the same risk value. As a result of this, I have doubled my previous risk value on my demo account to 5.5% (it was set at 2.25%).

I wanted to get an idea of how this new version of EB-Turbo will perform so I ran a backtest on EURUSD only (that is the only pair I am trading with this EA) from Jan 1, 2008 to Nov 13, 2009 starting at 13K. I did two runs, the first one at 5.5% risk which ended with an account balance of 124.1K and a max DD of 22.02% and the second run at double the risk (11%) which ended with 1.2M and a max DD of 43.05% I have attached the full backtest (the second one at 11% risk).

I am so impressed with this backtest that I am planning to gradually phase out all of my current EA's and give EB-Turbo total control of my live account. I am thinking on taking a total of six months to fully implement this plan which should give me enough time to completely evaluate EB-Turbo running on a live account. This is an extension of my previous plan that I layed out in a prior post. I am already decreasing MegaDroid's risk and increasing EB-Turbo's risk.

AUD/NZD is getting up to the upper range , although it means probably harvest time it is a bit scary

I started to send additional funds to my FXDD account, because they will start using NFA required 100:1 margin from next week on. So now comparison of FXDD against FXCM will be pointless. I am going to phase out the account as far as GT is concerned.

To me, the current bull move with AUDNZD is more than a little scary
As of right now, my live account is at 39.57% DD. I am very concerned that the pair will keep on going north. I am not sure I have the equity to withstand a full-blown peak.

I think you are very smart to dump FXDD. That NFA crap blows. Another broker bites the dust. Also that leverage (100:1) is very bad for a number of EA's including Robominer.

My DD on FXDD is also very high, because apart from AUD/NZD i also ride USD/JPY which seems about to break the bottom range ...

To phase out orderly I need to wait until the AUD/NZD starts to move back, I wonder when...

I also wonder when,

I am planning to phase out Robominer. That should not be a problem since each trade has a server enforced TP point . I am not using the Robominer stealth feature which hides the TP .

39.92% DD on my live account. I am getting ready to blow a gasket
