Smile Maestro

Hi Rick,
Looks like you are doing well with Forex Ambush. Hang in there and keep racking up the pips!
After studying the situation, I could not be certain the carry trade is going to continue going up; although I believe it will. Nevertheless, I decided to hedge my trades by setting Maestro long onto the AUD/JPY chart and setting Maestro short onto the NZY/JPY chart with no stop losses in either direction. This is a lot less aggressive, but I am sure it is safer, especially when I have no stop loss points. I run a copy of Maestro on each chart from 1 minute to 4 hours; or 6 robots on each pair.
You are right about Megadroid, I have been hit by hard stops. As near as I can tell Megadroid about breaks even in the long run, maybe with a slight advantage of dollars won vs dollars lost. Nevertheless, it is a fun robot; but I get a lot more action out of Maestro. Sometimes Maestro trades right after I drop him on a chart.

Smile 4 x project

Hi Rick,
After reading your suggestion, I checked out 4xproject and their Maestro tests. Yes, I agree their tests are what I would expect, if I turned Maestro loose. However, I try to keep a tight leash on all of my robots. It is like walking your dogs in the park; you have to control them; otherwise they run all over the place and pee on all of the bushes.
I think 4x is a little too optimistic with some of the other robots, however. At least I don't get those kinds of results when I turn a robot loose on default settings.
Good luck this week!

I had a really weird experience on an Ambush trade on Tuesday morning. It was not Ambush's fault, it was mine. The signal came in and I never noticed it until about 10 minutes later. I thought it was ok to enter but after I placed the order, I came to the conclusion that the TP point was already hit. So I modified my trade by putting in the TP point (same as Ambush) and a SL . Well the SL was hit and I blew almost $350.00.

I just checked the trade with the EURJPY charts and my mind was playing tricks on me. I was not too late entering the trade (price wise) and the trade was a winner...Darn...Double Darn. Oh well, keep plugging I guess.

Your strategy sounds complex and scary to me but this is the guy that can't even enter a trade on a signal properly

Rick

That is a very good analogy

The Forex Derivative bot that I bought is causing my demo account to tumble like crazing. It looks like a St. Bernard is taking a huge dump.

On top of that, I got a refund on LMT and bought Forex Boomerang. It's a little to early to say but the EURUSD just made a huge bear move when all my bots were buying like crazy.

Default Forex Ambush

Hi Rick,
Sorry to hear you were the victim of an Ambush. Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes I think my brain has a mind of its own. I have done dumb things like sell when I ment to buy. I wake up in the morning wanting to balance my trades; but I have so many different trades going and so many robots trading; sometimes I cannot figure it all out. So I just go off to work and worry about it when I get home.
So tell us more about Forex Ambush; do you have to sit there all day watching your screen or email? I presume Ambush tells you when to buy and when to sell? Do you know what strategy they use? Is it a trend following strategy? Breakout or momentum?
I tried one of those Internet services which give you trading signals every hour. I ran it for 3 months; but all I did was loose money. I don't know what was wrong; maybe the time of day I was trading was not good; because it seemed to be a scalping strategy which should be done late at night GMT.

Smile Forex Derivative

Hi Rick,
I guess I can cross Forex Derivative off of my list then. I would eventually like to have several robots, one for scalping, one for breakouts, one for trends, one for arbitrage , and one for hedging. Actually my GT-Shadow does hedging. That site with all of the free robots has a big variety; but I have not been able to access them. I get as far as Pay Pal and then get stuck. I will have to open a Pay Pal account, I guess.
I know what you mean about EUR/USD dropping. I got hurt in that one, too; but I just lowered my stop loss point and hung on. I still think the Euro is on its way up; since it is part of the carry trade . Of course lowing a stop loss point is a complete no-no; but I do it anyway.
So far this week Maestro has treated me well. I only had one stop loss with him. I should have caught the problem before it hit the stop loss and lowered the point ; but I just had too many trades going at once. Right now I am running Maestro with a stop loss at 500.
I am also running Megadroid, but only had one trade (on Monday) for a 9 pip win.
I plan to take your advice and trade again on Friday. Like you say, win some, loose some. Then I will spend the weekend reviewing my trades and planning for next week.
I hope you did well this week inspite of getting your signals crossed with Ambush.
Happy trading!

You don't have to sit there with Ambush and wait. They deliver the signals to two email addresses or SMS. I have them delivered to my smartphone. It was my smartphone that only vibrated and me not noticing which started the problem. I guess if you don't have a smartphone, you would have to hang around your email. When Ambush places their order, they also send the signal out. Their strategy (as far as I can tell) is to play the pullback or the counter-trend . They wait until the trend is exausted. For the longest time, they only sent sell signals so I thought that their strategy was to pick top's and play the pullback from a top. This last signal, on Tuesday, was for a buy which surprised me. Ambush is not really a scalp because you are after 20 pips. Their pick of trend exhaustion is very accurate but many times the market is so fast moving that by the time I place my order, I am way off of Ambush entry. Sometimes this can work to my advantage because there can be a retracement of the pullback or Ambush is wrong about the peak.

Forex Derivative has been a major loser. It took its first trade on my demo account June 10th. So far it has placed 15 (6 winners and 9 losers) trades (not including the open ones) for a total loss of $2,915.16. I am just about ready to kill it and get a refund.

If you are speaking of the web server that 4xproject.com uses, there is something strange about it. At times its fast and at other times it's such a dog.

The EURUSD moved higher today so I guess you were right . I have a ton of EURUSD buy trades running on all kinds of demo accounts. I know what you mean about loosing track. I have so many copies of MT4 running with so many EA's along with strategy tests and optimizations. I am getting dizzy just thinking about it. It's a good thing that I have and use mt4analysis otherwise I would never know the performance of any one EA on an account. Take for example, Forex Derviative. That MT4 is also running vForce Like EA 2 and TripleHeaderMACD and there has been a ton of trades on this account.

I also only had one MegaDroid trade on my live account this week. It was on Tuesday for a 13.5 pip gain. I also had only one Ambush trade this week also on Tuesday. That was the trade that I messed up so I took a loss this week.

A boat load of pips to you
Rick

Default June 15-19 Results

I had a losing week with my live account. I messed up an Ambush trade on Tuesday. I discussed this loss in posts 133 and 137.

Overall, it was a quiet week. Only one Ambush trade and one MegaDroid trade.

Week -$322.83, -4.8%, -$64.57/day

My demo account was another story. After putting Forex Derivative on the demo account last Sunday, it proceeded to lose almost $3,000 this week. I should give the heave but I am going to wait a little while longer.

vForce Like EA V2 is doing well on my demo account. It racked up about $550.00 this week.

I also have TripleHeaderMACD on my demo account, but it has not placed any trades as of yet. I think I have it set up for too long a term anyway.

I am also testing my new purchase of Forex Boomerang. It placed it's first trade yesterday which has not closed yet.

Rick

Smile Megadroid

Hi Rick,
I had only one Megadroid trade last week. It was on Monday for a 9 pip win from a droid running on a 1 minute chart. I was running 6 droids one on each of the following charts: 1 minute, 5, 15, 30, 1 hour and 4 hour charts. Calvin reported no trades with his Megadroid for last week while running 3 droids on the 15, 30 and 1 hour charts.
I am still running my robot hedges; but have nothing to report. It will take quite awhile for me to determine whether or not it is profitable. So far balance is going up; but equity down.
Thanks for the explanation of how Forex Ambush works. Good luck with it this coming week!

Tell me about your experiences with running MegaDroid on multiple time frames.
