Lightbulb Has anyone heard of the Forex Robot World Cup?

This sounds interesting.. A live competition has been going on for the last couple months. You can see all the results from the live trades from all these robots. If you havent seen this, it might be a good idea to take a looksie...

Commericalism, marketing. No indication of which EA's are competing. No indication of the start date. No indication of the end date. No indication of the EA ratings.

The Ea's that were competing I believe are unknown at this point . No currently marketed EAs are in competition. Only new EA's that do not have an 'identifiable' name as of yet.

Also Rick, are you suggesting that if an EA is marketed, it isnt worth checking out?

From what I can see, they are all being run on live accounts with transparency. Start date was November 2009 to January 2010.

As far as ratings, you cant determine that until after the competition, right?

this competition was put on by a few highly regarded organizations-- FXCM for one... it was totally transparent-- all profits/losses displayed from day one---so, it should be legitimate. The competition ran for two months and the winning "bot" showed phenominal success... a $1K account that in two months profited by an additional $3450..

not sure if the bot they are offering for sale is the one that did so well-- so, buyer beware...

I think Pip Cop ought to sell this robot. using the profits to support this website... depending on price, I might buy it...

What went wrong here was in the sole interest of a marketing effort, the illusion that computer coders can invent proper trading systems was promoted. If you have a proper working trading strategy I would say it is definitely worth coding that. You just have to understand very well the procedures of it.
