I dont know if this will allow us access to a foreign brokerage account or not, but it is a start. I know I dont want to start a company, either in this country or out. I much prefer the anominity of trading within my IRA's, and will easily put up with less leverage

to do this. Even at 10-1 there is a lot of trading still available, what it will really limit is the tiny leveraged accounts and the extreme daytrading/scalping, which includes most MT4 EA's.

I don't think Wall Street reforms will affect the Forex market, but I'd have to see the bill to know for sure.

So finally they made leverage

50:1... I think that a lot of EAs will go on the dole in the USA... It's time one started to really learn manual trading.

Absolutely,

Using a system that catches lots of pips (not a scalper) so the lot size is low so you don't need major leverage

.

I am really hoping to wean myself off of the scalpers that I am currently tied to but it's going to be a long process.

I am not affected by this ruling but it's something that I need to do. Long-term trend

catching systems are inherently more profitable than scalpers.

Never,

This is a US thing IMHO. The UK/European regulating bodies have no plans to shadow these ridiculous rules. Some people have suggested it's a US governmental/political thing that has nothing to do with making Forex trading better or more secure.

UK/Europe also did not follow up on the NFA regulations that have been in place for many months now in the US.
