Here are my first impressions of the Forex Ambush signal service.
All times are Alpari UK (GMT+2). I placed these trades with my demo account.
The were two signals, both with the EURJPY pair. The first signal was at 09:40 which woke me up. I immediately had problems with the EA that Forex Ambush provides. It's core logic counts on the fact that there are no open trades in the MT4 account. They say it goes against their
money management
rules. I had to quickly dump all the open RoboMiner trades and a pending trade with the GBPUSD pair to get the EA to prompt to open the trade.
This service has no hard stops and counts on only a trailing stop. They claim 100% in-profit closure. They say if you use their
money management
rules, there will never be a
margin call
.
The purpose of the EA is to provide the trailing stop as the Alpari UK server does not have this feature.
I forgot about the 5 decimals with Alpari UK and the EA. Turns out that the EA needs to be modified for 5 decimals (no mention of this in the docs).
The first trade was placed with only one tenth of the
TP
by accident. It closed in profit in less than one minute for a 2 pip gain (instead of the proper 20 pips).
The second trade was at 13:02. This time, I only had a minor problem when the EA would not prompt (I never found out why). After the 3rd attempt, the order was placed. I again calculated the lot size incorrectly. I transposed the last two digits. The trade was open for 12 minutes for a 20 pip gain.
The total gain on my account would been (if not for my mistakes) 8.2%.
I wrote to Forex Ambush about the EA but I am fairly certain they will write back saying that I should not have any open or pending trades.
You can view the trades in my
demo account statement.
So far, so good.
Looks like I'll have to dump FAP Turbo (no great loss) and MegaDroid and my mechanical GBPUSD system to trade these signals live (major groan...)
Stay tuned,
Rick
