| SampleMACD!?!? Would you get a load of this!? re: SampleMACD!?!? Would you get a load of this!?
you know the "SampleMACD" that's on every MT4? Well, I thought I played enough a long-time ago in beginner mode these little sample-come-ons, even went thru optimizing of the SampleMA back-then, so I don't know why now the MACD upon optimizing run sure looks mighty fine! LOL maybe its to do with my time/experience (ha ha ha ) having played with setting EAs in tests/etc, don't know, anyway:
EURUSD, 1min & "tick" resolution", live$ back-data, 39 trades, 3 months of 1min data, periodicity=1min, 1-mini:
profit=$532 Drawdown  $= 168 Drawdown  %=14% TP  =70
TS=20
MACDOpenLevel=10
MACDCloseLevel=6
MATrendPeriod=12
LOL, maybe they "hid it in plain site" kind of thing.
Probably does better than at least half the EAs we've bought out there or have seen tested here!
I attach report with graph gif.
Pretty incredible, a simple "sample-macd".
And it's with live$ back-data, so that much better chance of it operating close to this form when ruinning live$$. Heck, who wouldn't mind 50% gain per 3 months at no EA cost, hey, many vendors back-test on demo data and throw it in your face "buy this, make money!" Here this sits free with live$$ back-data performance!
jb
ps: pipcop, care to give it a shot on different brokers, when you can do it $$-wise, but for IBFX make it $10/1-nano setting/account asap if some vote for it?
pss: uploader only allowed the gif-equity chart, not the html whole report. |

| I just noticed the coincidence of my donating $10 with now later suggesting $10 for a nano IBFX account for this macd, this WAS only coincidence, no forethought here.
thank you.

| I got a 3rd account opened with IBFX, so I send $10 to them to put on this possible "hidden in plain sight " intrigue and I run it with a nano-lot.
I see only 20 views, just like my Invis that has only 1200 in a few months whereas Megadroids gets 2500 in 2 weeks due to the fandangled-nesses about it, but something too simple and basic, nah, not very interesting, LOL

| OK! Got account funded with a $10 check, took a bit of time using a check by mail. MT4 running on my server per above info and lots set = .01. Ran back-test up to today and things still good to go! (i.e., double an account every half year) Like Wo! Wouldn't it be a HUGE tickle-your-fancy if plain-ol'-in-plain-site "MACD Sample" is good!
And here's the publish link, some weeks it's not doing much and some weeks a bit of trades, so don't look forward to fast quantity of trades. http://206.71.180.236/statements/macd/statement.htm

| SampleMACD!?!? Would you get a load of this!? MACD Sample expert advisor is a famous sample expert advisor made by MetaQuotes software to implement a very simple MACD-based strategy of Forex trading. MACD (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence) is one of the basic financial trading indicators, which is present in every MetaTrader platform. This version of MACD Sample was optimized specifically for GBP/USD H4 chart. This expert advisor uses crosses of 4 MACD indicators and 2 moving average indicators to determine the next position's direction. MACD Sample uses a trailing stop-loss for its orders. That's why it has a very high percentage of profitable orders. But this expert advisor should be always active to stop out the losing positions in time. |

I realized some of the info you told me, but half no, so thank you.
So if it can be optimized to do well on average over a span of time, do you think ongoing live$ it will do well and if so why has it been relatively hidden in plain site while we all struggle to find the "piesta- resistance "-EA for eons?

| Hey, a lot of us check this thread, just havent had anything to say yet. I also stoped testing these a long time ago, the MA EA never seemed to work well, so I went on to other things. I always though these simple 1 indicator EA's where offered as platforms to build on and learn from, not as actual trading EA's, but ForexGuides posted some interesting information that I wasnt aware of, and now I think I may have to go back and do some testing as well. I think some of these simpler EA's could be very interesting with a little manual assist, such as asigning a directional bias, and choosing when to activate them. |

| Dang! I've had this puppy on wrong pair! EURGBP not EURUSD by accident and in-attention, dang! Closed an open trade to switch things, so instead of $.40-something-cents ahead it's at only $.19 ahead from $10- initial equity, so we're essentially starting anew. So I got that corrected; did another back-test to this date and she still looks good on above optimized first optuimization found parameters, so I have it march forward.

| This is most likely my last post on this item, here is the latest 4 months worth of 1min periodicity back-test: http://206.71.180.236/index/Strategy...CD_5_30_09.htm
After playing with EAs for at least a year this seems like THE ticket, the feel, the performance, balanced dd with respect to gain, even this 1 month later it played-out in back-test STILL with same parameters as first post w/o need for another optimization (!!), signs of a healthy EA, all from a "simple sample" right in front of us, amazing. And it even replays on back-test as it did in real live$, another gem feature you don't often get with EAs ('course down to 1min periodicity helps that)

jb | JB,
I forward tested this EA (modified so it would only consider it's own trades) for about 3-4 weeks on EURUSD M1 and another instance on GBPUSD H4.
The EURUSD instance, at first, made good profit but it ended up giving back way more. The GBPUSD instance traded way less frequently and was much more stable (in terms of keeping profit) but I dumped it because it would only do one or less trade a week.
Rick
