| Heavens-to-Mergatroid........E-ven! re: Heavens-to-Mergatroid........Eee-ven!
I had it on AlpariUS for a few days, no trades! That I discovered was because they are not updating their MT4 to new build-versions, 220 per manual says it's not sufficient. AlpariUS chat was not a nice one in this regard! I'm no longer migrating my server to NY just to get 1ms delay to connect with them!
Soon as I went to IBFX build 223 a trade was opening. Even better is down to the minute ("tick") the tester was replicating what happened live$ on that trade (!), except you have to wait for the hour bar to pass. I like that, tester replication! They have on screen a digit counter, since IBFX is going 5 digit mid April I suspect this EA will be no problem as it will detect this and do the right math. It feels like they done their homework!
Their website now has many years past performance tests. Some years have unfortunate digs into the equity, some not, yet all years do well on the initial Thou by years end.
I use 25% risk; I'm not worried, as I have "reduce lots" = true so the EA will not continue trading previous size lots and kill the account, and authors mention in emails of late that 10 or 20 is ok.
This account number 57021 had $3.51 and was the published link for the micro-mini P.SAR when I started using it instead now with "Mergatroid" yesterday, it's up $.15 now: http://206.71.180.236/statements/statement.htm
OkYdOkY! May we be "blessed" with "Mergy"

| Similar problems with FXDD not being willing to update MT4 to the new build. They said I had to download a new copy. Still looking for the best micro lot broker to run and test these things on.
Also looking for a better manual position trading platform, MT4 has excellent charting, but the trading platform does not handle position trading well, its a trade based platform designed for EA's and daytrading.
Now we've all seen a little tiny win. I'm waiting to see some little tiny losses, that will tell me more about the quality of the programing than a 10 pip win. Also I'm a little concerned about the frequency of trading. Its obviously too soon, but these people have studied and copied every other commercial robot, and I'm concerned about anouther AutoCashRobot thats intentionaly designed to string you along with one tiny trade a day. |

| MegaDroid has posted their trading stats for the past years. I've just gone through a little, but I'm way off base with my concerns. This robot can trade multiple times a day, and it can open two orders at once. Also, it looks like they're running a 28% position size.

jb | Thanks for the tip jb.
My copy of Mergatroid (on Alpari UK) did not make any trades at all for over three days. No complaints, no messages...nothing. I was getting worried.
After reading your post, I checked the version and it was 220. So I updated it. Well, the update would not hold. Each time I checked the version, it was 220. I ended up giving up on it and merging Mergatroid in with my high risk FAP Turbo demo account. I think it should do ok there.
Nice name...heavens to mergatroid... Thanks for the link.

If you've been able to run back-test on 1min resolution back to some months, then try this! Do a start date just before a cluster of losers (intentional attempt to damage account) and.........believe it or not!........set risk to .50 (50%), click tab for graph to watch progress while testing, ........I think I picked a recent start date of 2/12/09, account got down to I think $277 (?), but ultimately did well by 4/3. don't remember final conclusion there, but did quite ok still......but wrote these tests down:
Starting balance of $500:
5 months back from today yielded $19K
9 months back from today yielded 51K.
Early part of that 9 months has a longish spell where account also goes up 'n down and dips for quite awhile before it takes off.
Make sure decrease lots is true though, you don't want to have same lot sizes as account does dive duration.
Due to characteristic of it more often than not "making the grade" and due to the tester replicating on 1min bar basis, unless I'm missing something (and in EA world this is possible ), this rationally now seems like high possibilities of being a "Wiener", so tomorrow I celebrate and have a Der-Wienerschnitzel.

| I'm running megadroid on demo account of $50,000 as per the manual recommendation.
First trade with risk set at .1 took a 60pip profit of $554.17
Changed risk to .2 and left reduce lots to false as this is meant to greatly increase profitability as per the manual.
Now just waiting for the markets to open again on Monday :-) | |

Just safer I believe with reduce lots, that way in case 2 or 3 loser trades in a row you don't lose so much. But the toughness of the method and the percentage of winners to losers makes it out and up each time.
Increae profitability? How 'bout $500-to-$34K in half a year going safely with reduce-lots=true? (.5 risk) Have best of both worlds! The $500 account (purposely set first date of tester just before a double whamee of losers) gets down to around $185, but it puills out and heads to $34K by today. I dare not set to false as it would eat the account down to the margin , but I am at .5, not .2, so operating different.
