My Alpari UK demo account running Forex Hippo went up over 12% in less than one day.

all set as default but the lot size goes from 1.0 to 1.7...do you have the same numbers.?

That depends on the account equity/balance/free margin

. My lots are varying from 1.56 to 2.73 and I think that is completely normal.

Return is now at 22.78% running a little more than one day

today 30 sept,two losses in a row with euro-jpy..risk 5 ..SL10...TP70

I had the same losses. Whether you are in the red right now depends on the start date. My demo (at default 15 risk) started Sep 21 and is still 12% in the black. I had a much worse loss on Sep 22 at almost 17% of the account. This loss was 7.16% for both trades.

I started with a 10K demo FXCM MT4 on the 19th..
on the 22 sept I had a big loss on euro-usd ....big loss compared to the smaller gains...

is it some kind of deja-vu with EA...??

Total deja vu,

So many EA's behave this way. I am fighting with Forex Photon because it's doing the same thing. Comes out strong and then turns into a loser. IMHO, this is caused by over optimization. When the EA is marketed, it is curve-fitted to the current market and comes out really strong. Tons of people buy it and then the market changes and the big winner first turns into a combo winner and loser and as the market further changes, it becomes a big loser. Then we drop that EA and move onto the next short

term winner and the cycle repeats. Sound familiar?

One day I will learn not to bank on short

-term EA's. I am really leaning towards an EA that trades H4 or higher but I have not yet found one that does a good job and these types of EA's trade so infrequently that the broker

disables the demo account. That is what happened to the Turtle Trading System 2 EA that I ran. It made one (losing) trade in just over a month and Alpari UK disabled the account so the only way I can properly test a long-term trading EA is by opening a micro live account.

After almost two months, Forex Hippo on my Alpari UK demo account has made a very small profit. It started by coming out strong (up over 21%) and then losing this and an additional 21.7%. Since then it has recovered some and is sitting at 6.55%

In light of this inconsistent behavior and lackluster performance, I have requested a refund.

Trading has been stopped and the MyFXBook account will be removed as soon as I get the refund.

Another one bites the dust.

I dropped it too very unpredictible indeed ....I will open positions against it as most of the time it goes the wrong way.!!

Hi bayon,

I would not do that. Hippo's winning rate

on my demo account was 79% which is good. The problem is that the risk:reward ratio is poor. As a result, it looses more than it makes even with a high winning rate
