There is a number of things to like in this EA. Please follow along with the attached detailed statement.
-gross profit is greater than gross loss
-largest loss only larger than largest win by $10
-average win larger than average loss
-maximum win way larger than maximum loss
-consecutive wins at 7 and losses at 3
If this keeps up, I'll have a hard time containing myself

But you are essentially correct. One really bad trade (hard stop) and I loose about 6%. If that happens multiple consecutive times, I could be in trouble. That's primarily why I have not promoted Forex Photon to my live account yet. So far, the DD has been exceptional but I want to demo it longer to be sure.

Rick | not true of default is only 1 trade...
if u drag ur EA to the chart, the default is 10%, aggressive = true and max trade = 3 |

FF must have changed this recently. They used to claim that their EA would open only one trade per pair at a time. I just checked their website and that claim is now gone.

| How has the forex photon been doing of late? I am considering getting this ea. Do you think it would be a problem to run it along side MD in the same account? It seems to require a lot of your margin (with the multiple positions). I could be wrong though.
P.S. I appreciate you making all of this available. It is a big help! |

You are welcome. There a lot of us interested in this underrated EA.
In it's first five weeks, Forex Photon has done well on the demo account I set up for it. It reached a high (on Aug 6) of 48.97% and since has fallen back some. It's max DD so far has been 8.58% which is outstanding. Being a scalper, it's effectiveness on different brokers is highly variable and I expect the normal scalper drop in performance once I put it on my live account (if it makes it).
I don't see too many issues running Forex Photon along side MegaDroid. That's is what I am planning to do (along with The Channel Scalper). It's trade windows are similar which is not good but as long as you don't get too greedy. It will, of course, mean that the second EA in will get a reduced lot size because of the reduction in equity (margin + any loss + rollover ). This is not a combo I would trade at 100:1 leverage . For this combo, the higher the leverage (and lower the margin in use), the better. The demo I am running is at 500:1 which is very good.
At the recommended 10% risk, the lot size is about one mini per 1K in equity.

| Rick,
I was wondering if you had seen the results on forexpeacearmy.com for this ea? They are significantly different from your results. It seems like their settings are different though. Also, they are using it on a demo account with fxpro as the broker , but I can not see the broker making that much of a difference. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dan |

Dan | Hi Dan,
The FPA demo has different results for two reasons that I can see. The first is that FPA had version 1.15 running a long time after the update to the newer version 1.17 was available. Apparently this was done intentionally. The second reason is that Forex Photon, being a scalper, has wide performance difference among brokers.
For example, take a look at Forex Photon's own live account with FXOpen here and compare it to their demo account with FigFX here. There is a very wide difference between these two. One reason is the broker difference and the other is that one is a demo account and the other is a live account.

| Rick,
Thanks, that makes sense about the version update. I see what you are talking about. I guess I am just amazed at the difference the broker can make. Looks really good. I think I am going to go ahead and get this ea and demo it. Thanks again.
