You are very welcome,

Attached is an optimization report varying the risk starting at 5.0 (pass 1) to 10.0 (pass 51), incrementing risk by 0.10 each pass.

According to the profit factor, the best risk is pass 15 at risk 6.4 which produces 1,153.47% over the nine year period for 128.16% per year or 10.68% per month while producing a DD of 57%. These values are good but not excellent.

Using the Turtle Trading System 2 EA for comparison. The strategy test that I posted in post #2 also over a nine year period has a total profit of 1,585% for 176.11% per year and 14.68% per month all the while having a DD of 51%. I don't know about you, but I call this excellent.

You have created a great EA (according to the backtests), I really like the new money management and the new lot size calculation. I would be perfectly willing to go to the next step and put the EA on it's own dedicated demo account just the way it is but if you are going to enhance it further, I will hold off.

Rick

I'm enhancing it further, in the attachment an example of the back test.
I'm working hard on the DD to obtain better results.
I'll put soon a new version of the EA on the forum

This sample is really good,

Jan 1, 2000-Jul 7, 2010

10.58 years or 127 months

1,449.82% for the entire period or 137% per year or 11.41% per month with a maximum DD of 43.06%

718 trades for 127 months which is 5.65 trades per month

This is the last version of the robot

the money management logic is changed, you can put values from 1 (0.1 lots) to 50 (5 lots) for the Risk variable.

Let me know how it works for you

Cheers Pask

Attached is a risk optimization report. I started from risk 1 to risk 50 in steps of 1. Any risk greater than 28 blew the entire account. Risk 28 generates a DD of 96.14% which is way too high.

From the optimization report, I picked risk 16 as the DD is 57.02%. Attached is a strategy test from risk 16. Highlights:

880% in nine years or 97.89% per year or 8.16% per month
415 trades, 46.11 trades per year or 3.8 trades per month

This last version is the second best (IMHO) of the three versions of your EA that I have tested. The best version is the second one in post #8 and my test results from this version are in post #11.

This is the version that I would like to put on it's own demo account if you are ok with that?

It's a bit strange that with two different accounts we are experiencing so different results...
I'm using an fxcm account and the results for risk 20 with this EA are in post #14.
Anyway, of course you can put the EA on a live account, the more we test it the better we can understand how it works
In the next days I'll put a new version of the EA with some ideas merged from previous versions and maybe a new "surprise" that for now is only in my mind.
If you want to wait some days we can choose the best one to put live
we have to understand wich ones are the "correct" tests, cause there is really a big difference from an account to another and this is a bit confusing...

Thanks for your time and your collaboration!

You are Very Welcome Pask,

One thing that I noticed that has a major impact on the total amounts and accuracy of the backtests is that your backtest reports have mismatched chart errors. MT4 is finicky this way. You may have all the daily bar data but there are some bars that are calculated incorrectly. To clear these errors, go back and download again. If you have all the data, MT4 will say so and ask you if you want to re-calculate all time frames. Just say yes to this. I make a point of doing this just before running backtests and it makes sure there are no chart errors and the modeling quality is always 90%.

If you are going to be making further changes, I'll wait to put the EA on a demo account.

Rick

ok back test seem good. I download from post #8. But one alert.. the built-in stop loss is 600+ pips ?? is that why results looking good? hmm...kinda risky don't u think? I understand Daily TF requires higher SL .. but 600 pips is kinda high for me, i'd suggest adjusting lot size to suit ones money mgmt needs.

What is the criteria for entry point ? to me entries are most important.

can any one suggest an EA that enters perfectly on interday basis? but has hard time mgmt.
If someone can provide me excellent entry maker, i know methods of trade mgmt tools can take care of mgmt trades (all automatic)

thx

The SL as you notice is high but you can adjust the Risk parameter to work with maximum 0.5 lots.
With risk 1 the EA will trade from 0.1 to maximum 0.5 lots.
I guess that we can try to put in a live account the EA in post #8 cause i don't think to improve it in the next days.
Cheers Pask

Hi Pask,

I put your EA up on a demo account with Alpari UK running on my VPS. Starting balance is 10K USD. The stats are published with MyFXBook. Here is the URL:

I set the risk to 6.4 as per my post #11.

Enjoy,
Rick
