Default MegaDroid Pro

This review is about the MegaDroid Pro EA which I got for free from the MegaDroid team by using their affiliate link when purchasing Forex Maximizer.

As I understand it, MegaDroid Pro is very similiar to MegaDroid with the exception that it trades the three pairs EURUSD, EURCHF and EURGBP on H1 charts.

The EA parameters are basically identical to MegaDroid. I am using version 1.02 of MegaDroid Pro.

I have no affiliation with anyone in conjunction with this review.

I started trading this EA on a demo account on May 13 2010.

I am using the default settings with the exception of:
Risk 0.40
NFA true
RecoveryMode False

The S1_Reference and S2_Reference, the magic numbers, have been changed to reflect unique numbers.

The demo account is with The CollectiveFX at 100:1 leverage .

Here is the MyFxBook link to the demo account which runs all three pairs:

Update:
Collective FX disabled my demo account running this EA. I started a new demo account with Alpari UK on May 26. The new link to MyFXBook is:

I noticed that MegaDroid Pro's calculated lot size based on the risk parameter is way smaller than the regular MegaDroid EA.

For example, I set MegaDroid Pro's risk to 0.40 (40%) with about 2.7K equity. MegaDroid Pro opened a EURUSD trade at 0.37 lot.

In my live account with about the same equity and MegaDroid's risk set to 0.20 (20%), MegaDroid opened a trade at 0.58 lot which means that if I had MegaDroid set at 40%, the lot size would be 1.16.

That is a substantial difference in the lot size calculation comparing the two EA's.

i need an advice...

do i need MegaDroid if i have MegaDroid Pro?

Sorry this might sounds silly but i would like to know whether the EURUSD pair trades exactly the same way in both MegaDroid and MegaDroid Pro?

Thanks!

It's not silly. A very fair question.

My initial impression is that they are different. Specifically, the lot size calculation based on a risk value is completely different. They may enter and exit trades in the same manner but the bottom line profit is different (smaller based on the risk).

It has been my experience with MD that aggressive should remain off for a smoother equity curve.

Not true,

Actually there are differing opinions about this. Turning aggressive restricts one of the key strategies which causes even less trades. Other people here can give you more information about this than me.

I have been running MD with aggressive on for more than a year on a live account with no complaints.

THe euro/usd regular version had a large drawdown with 2nd stratgey. I would rather used ADT (Advance Droid Tactics), with my raw spread broker (plenty of trades).
