I found your last posting somewhat confusing. Firstly, you mentioned "these cheap little robots based on purely historic price data", yet I thought the whole point of this site is to ignore the historical data and test the robots 'live', as a forward test.
Secondly, you said you "have tried them all and they dont' work. Once I'd realised that a number of years ago.." But as a specific example, I didn't think Robominer had been out all that long. Have you actually tried Robominer? If so, how did your initial results compare with Pipcops (and others on this site, including my own)?
In my opinion, there is room on this site for healthy criticism, but I think your rather rude approach is something of an insult to the team here. |

I like to dip into forums every now and again to try to enlighten those who still believe that future prices can be predicted from past prices and usually I get the same response as I'm getting here.
There will be a few who are willing to learn and I'm sure you'll eventually learn yourself. But in your case you may have to lose a lot more (real or virtual money) before you come to your senses.
So, just before I leave I'll reiterate: YOU CANNOT PREDICT FUTURE PRICES FROM PAST PRICES ALONE | I'm out !
Who needs this!! |

| Ok, taking back this thread...ignoring any posts from you know who from here on in :-)
I'd really like anyone who is currently trading both pairs live to pop in and give us their experiences. As I posted before I am considering bumping up my live account to start trading both. That means an addition of at least another $3000 to take it to the $3500 recommended level. I am actually thinking of adding $5000 to my current balance of $595 (original deposit $500).
Also the manual says to change the magic number for the EUR/CHF pair - can anyone elaborate on what exactly should be done there?
Many thanks to the wonderful people on this forum who are just out to educate and spread /share knowledge.

| | Pip Chief of Police and Site Owner | Folks, I would like to remind everyone that my site is open to everyone. People who have a negative opinion about robots are welcome here as well. I ask that NO ONE take it upon themselves to suggest another member leave MY site - that is my decision and mine alone.
While Doncanard may have a negative view towards these robots, it's very easy to ask anyone to back up their claims. Please be thoughtful and polite and ask him to provide more details. If he is truly an expert, then his answers will reflect that. If he is here to stir things up, then his answers will reflect that.
And most importantly, if a person is trying to provoke a response, it's a test of your character to remain calm and either reply calmly or simply ignore them.
Thanks for helping to support the site by remaining calm and letting things work out.

The best advice I can give, although some of you still want to look at life through rose tinted glasses, is to move away from these nonsense robots and give up the idea of the holy grail EA. It simply dont exist. | Well, as long as the significant period of time is over three months then I'd happily settle for one of these EA's to run in the short term -> http://championship.mql4.com/2008/

| i was skeptical my self a few weeks ago,but the profit has creeped up on the
demo and the live account
all you can reasonably expect to make is 2 to 5% a month
and robominer seems to be doing that,
and it hasnt had a margin call yet.,so i woundnt trash it at this point .
.its unprofessional with no stops, and i dont think a multimillion hedge fund would want to trade it.,but hey if it makes people some chump change, thats still good to me

| I actually enjoy input from people who aren't all 'gee whiz' about robots, as I must admit to having reservations. However, I have started trading RM live with a $20000 account to see how I go. Only 2 days so far but going okay. Will post results when they are more meaningful.
cheers,

You can just change it from 510001 to 610001, and save it in presets
Never change the last two numbers

rd | hi raindog, Real money? If so........
As long as you know the open-trade drawdown chances you will or could be running into sir, that's too much money to be throwing on something you don't know how long and when and how well it will be closing them. Just my opinion. I'm having beginning success with Invisible FX Landscape ( http://www.PipCop.com/forums/general/135-possible-future-new-ea-invisible-fx-landscape.html), it will double an account every half year (or in that range ) with only 12% DD, and those DD's are solid and not left-over-dangling-never-know-when-or-if-type, they are all closing trades that simply can have the actual equity dip for awhile, current back-test shows 12% dip for a month before Turkey day, otherwise on a steady incline. Trading time is 1 hour starting at 8 GMT (set in parameters on EA). But too it's in testing/final-develop-stage, but I'd wait if I were you unless that $$$ is so much just throw away-utter-risk-for-fun-money. Now you're going to tell me "ahh, it's demo!" ......LOL

| Thanks Peter.
Another question -
What is the benefit of trading both pairs compared to just sticking with the AUD/NZD?
