Cogs, I doubt they would do the AUD/USD, it's too volatile and RM depends on closely correlated currenies in the pair.

Jey, I am happy with the only VPS I have so far tried: Crucial Paradigm Australia.

http://www.crucial.com.au/

Not sure if an Aussie VPS if suitable for you, though.

cheers,

I have 4 open trades dated the 2nd and 3rd of Feb and would like advice on what to do if anything.

The swap is getting bigger and bigger with 2 of them up to .14 & 2 up to .12

I don't really understand how the whole swap things work either.

1st live week profit 13%
dd 12.5% due to those old 4 trades currently at -$59.70

Any advice appreciated

Maree

I'm interested in that circumstance, too Maree. My understanding is that RM closes trades at a loss when the swap gets to a certain point , but I'm not sure what that point is.

Taken from FAQs

Quote:
Q.I have had an open trade that has moved from postive to negative territory. When will it close the trade?Ans.It is a grid trading system. It is waiting for the price to reach a predetermined point before it closes a trade. If you study the back test data that is shown on the website, you will see that it is sometimes several days, weeks and maybe months before a trade is closed. It is not meant to be nursed along waiting for trades. They happen when appropriate. Over the long term, you will see the profits build up as the trades close and accumulate their profits. We have studied the movement of this pair over a long term and it will eventually get there. But it is rare for a trade to close within a few minutes. What you are describing is very normal for this system.

The robot either works or it doesn't.

You could take the loss, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose don't you think?

Mine hasn't never made any swaps, purely long, short with buy and sell limit orders.

Cogs, interesting, where did you find this? I looked at the same Q in the FAQ's and the answer mentions "you will see that it is sometimes several days before a trade is closed". No mention is made of "weeks and maybe months". Is there another link that is different?

thanks,

Default FAQs

rd,

forex-goldmine dot com/FAQ/faq/5/faq.html

I would have entered the correct address jad it not been for the forum posting settings.

I am yet to reach the months stage on some running loses but am still easily profitable anyway regardless.

If you have seen your swaps increase I m assuming you have IBFX as they just increased their swap rates. Swap costs are posted twice a week AHEAD of time. ( ie. you ll get "charged" swap for a trade that just opens). There may be a setting in RM you can use that would automatically increase the TP of a trade to cover swap so that they don't close a loss.
The robot DOES work, it requires PATIENCE and UNDERSTANDING. Like Pipcop says on EVERY robot page "READ THIS" He means it and that is DON'T Trade $$$ if you don't understand your robot or how MT4/markets work. Take a few MONTHS on educating yourself how things work. one day it all comes together, you'll be SMART with swaps ( and maybe compare brokers) and actually get some cash in your account when you expect it.

Thanks Cog, that's the "General Questions About the Trading System Used" page, I was looking at the "Questions About Using the EA" page. It would be good if they got the information consistent...

I have noticed that you need to still apply personal patience with this robot as you would normal trading without a robot. It appears many start using this robot and think they will get rich quick, there is no such thing. So far from what I have experienced this robot works well and I am only trading .01 lots set on automatic.

I do hope the developers are working on being able to trade additional currencies. The AUD/USD would be awsome.
If you'd get gt-shadow (from the same builder as robominer) you can trade any pair you want. Don't ask me about settings and stuff since I'm on a discovery journey like the most of us, but just read the page (forex goldmine) and you can see for yourself.
