I don't think you should go for a broker based in the US as there are also the NFA regs which are bad news. Make sure you don't consider an NFA broker (IBFX is one).
I heard nothing but bad about Alpari US. Some people like FXDD. FXPro is supposed to be ok also. I just looked at the spreads and I could not believe how low FXCBS was 0.2 on EURUSD and 0.3 on EURGBP. They are based in Cyprus and forexpeacearmy.com has some posts about problems withdrawing money.
The people here are your best resource. Ask them. Let them know what EA or what type of EA you are planning to run. Some brokers are good for scalping and some are not.
