Cool About the site founder

My name is James Fullerton. I am a ColdFusion web developer living in the Northern Virginia area with my wife. I have been a computer enthusiast since I was in high school, and have been working with computers professionally for about 15 years now. I run a few web sites such as www.OneWebAve.com (my web design and hosting business), www.FriendZoned.com (my relationship advice site), and have recently sold www.RS25.com (a Subaru forum, and I have stayed on as an administrator.)

My recent interest in Forex has led me to create this site. It all started while I was working with my co-workers in 2006 who were also interested in learning Forex. The allure of programming a computer to try to make “intelligent” trades for me is what initially peaked my interest in Forex, but I spent a lot of time learning the basics and trading on my own. Finally, I started to check out the many Expert Advisers (EA’s) that are out there.

One thing I noticed is that there is no real centralized site that has an easy-to-use format to test and review Forex robots, and actually track results with live data. Thus I started PipCop.com to fill that void.

I recently discovered that backtesting was somewhat of a sham, as the results are very unreliable, and anyone posting backtest results but not live forward test results is pretty much lying to you. Unless an EA has been placed on a live broker feed, the data is pretty useless.

So I decided to pull out an old server from my closet and set it up to be a dedicated EA testing machine. My goal was to load it up with live instances of MetaTrader and as many EA’s that I could find, and have them utilize the publisher feature to put the results up in real time, with real data, to my web site. I will also do my best to test commercial products and also put them to the test.

One thing led to another, and now I have several servers running dozens of MT instances, all publishing to the site.

Of course, I still trade manually, but the hope is that these EA’s can trade better than a human can. One real issue that has made me want to look at EAs is the fact that I can spend more time with friends and family if I am not having to sit in front of my computer (or cell phone!) all day watching the market.

I hope the site will serve the investing community well. Of course, if you have suggestions or feedback, please let me know so I can take them into consideration and make the site a better place for everyone.

Thanks for visiting.
